Primavera Sound 2019

Just as expected, Built to Spill have now included Primavera in their tour plan! Also confirmed for the small post-rock/post-metal fest "A Colossal Weekend" in Copenhagen which is a nice surprise.  

Really excited to see them at two festivals next year!

There couldn't be a better way to start off. Though it's a bit underwhelming that they're only touring as a three piece currently.

looks like I'll be making my third trip to Primavera Sound after missing out on Glastonbury tickets. Seems much harder to predict headliners this year than last, The Cure seem a shoe in though.

Yeah the Cure seem a shoe in but reading the other boards for European festivals, none of the headliners  mentioned like Mumford and Florence and the machine, are not Primavera bands

The Strokes have been rumoured for APE in London - if true I'd wager they'll headline Primavera Sound too.

Can't see it happening. They only last played three years ago, and have barely done anything since. I'm sure Gabi will happily let Mad Cool take them all for themselves.

Yeah I could imagine that, he's got that new suspiria soundtrack coming out and he's touring a bit this year. nothing for next year yet

 

My Bloody Valentine have confirmed two new albums apparently so hopefully they get released so they can headline primavera at some point before 2030

I'm gonna say from what we know with artists touring we could see any of these:

The Cure, MBV, NIN, Beach House, Julia Holter, Swans (new iteration should be out then), Deafheaven, This Will Destroy you, Sharon Van Etten, GYBE, Pinegrove, Snail Mail, Interpol, LOW, Tim Hecker, Big Red Machine (Bon Iver and The National have both recently headlined, obviously only if the project is touring), Thom Yorke, Tame Impala (possibly headlining), Vampire Weekend

obviously people have mentioned others, I reckon we could see The Cure, Tame Impala, Smashing Pumpkins, headlining with Vampire Weekend having a high up slot. Not that I like them but I wonder if The 1975 are 'Primavera enough' to play, and probably headline. I reckon once the APE line up is out we're gonna get at least two of the headliners from there.

I remember someone suggesting Tool last year. They're meant to be touring in early June, I wonder if they might be an option for Primavera?

Not directly I think. Seems they were reporting somebody on a different forum (BBK Bilbao) suggesting this.

It was me the one that posted it, and yes, it has been said at a conference in a music industry related event.

Would be really surprised to see Tool at Primavera, but you never know. Routing and schedule work well if they are in Austria around June 5th, its doable....

the cure in dublin in 8th june makes me feel we can have them in both primaveras. porto-dublin or dublin-porto is a common trip i see bands doing.
