Lineup 2020

Apologies if it’s already been mentioned but on RATM’s tour poster it says when there’s 2 asterisks that RTJ aren’t performing. On the tour dates they’re not saying it’s a festival (Paris instead of saying it’s rock en Seine etc) and there’s no asterisk as RTJ are playing. Have they confirmed RTJ for R&L maybe?

I would be very, very surprised if Reading sold out tomorrow. Festivals don't sell out often now a days straight away because of how many others there are and the expanse of Europe festivals too. Day tickets for Rage will probably go within the next week or two.

unless the lineup is supremely amazing i can't see it selling out instantly, but i am a bit worried

Reading last year had Foo Fighters, who sell out stadiums every time they tour. Along with 1975 and Post Malone, 2 acts that are ridiculously suited to the current demographic of Reading and it still took it a long while to sell out of weekend tickets. Not sure how quickly Foo's day sold out but it wasn't quick.

It wont be selling out tomorrow. Unless the line up is genuinely ridiculous and they have acts that no one expected it wont happen.

ok so after some thought i wanna say about a week, to be nice, but i’m still gonna be waiting on the page to buy my ticket as soon as it comes up

i reckon the day tickets will go VERY fast but i can’t see people getting camping to see one band

unless we get a lineup that’s like, biblical in every sense of the word, then yeah i don’t really know how fast but SHIT my brains fucking me about rn

Hi - I've been following the forum since December, but finally decided to comment after today's excitement.

I'm lucky enough to be old enough to have seen RATM play Reading in 1993 - 27 years ago and it was my 5th Reading :)  RATM subbed for Perry Farrell's Porno For Pyros on the Friday night - but it was Rage who stole the show, with the NME describing it the following week as "The First Mosh Pit Visible From Space".

That performance is still a gig which I would put inside my Top 20 of all time and I've seen more than 2,000 live bands - so bring it on!

BTW - the same weekend had Radiohead supporting Blur on the Melody Maker Stage, which meant I missed Siouxsie and the Banshees on the main stage to watch Radiohead instead.

Also saw Rage at Reading in 1996 and 2000, but missed out on 2008 because my kids were young - this year I've got them tickets :)

Excited for Run the Jewels and can't wait for 9AM tomorrow.

Haha calm down lad, it won't sell out for ages I reckon. Never has.

I think the clash of new school and old school is really interesting too. It goes to show how much the festival has changed that a band like rage against the machine gets lashed on Twitter.

Days before Twitter obv but I remember getting the train into work post announcement day and some college kids all banging on about how great it was RATM were there.  A very small sample but I remember there was a real excitement around them playing and the festival as a whole back then, selling out in a an hour.

    • So, when will we know what's in our Occident mistery box? I hope they'll end the guessing game and tell us before
    • What I didn't like was Pinkpantheress set. Coming from Jade, it was impossible to get even a half-decent spot. You could manage to get a decent-ish view, but the sound was just terrible.

    • Standardly perfect day at Primavera yesterday.   Highlights:   Rilo Kiley - kinda smallish crowd, comparing to Geese, but man, they sounded great.   The Cure - finally saw them for the first time and loved every minute (left during Close to Me).   Jade (arrived during FUFN) - amazing voice, perfect vibes, great show.   The Levi's Plaza - I went there just after Somos la herencia and when I decided to take a pee break and saw the line of people waiting to get inside to see Rose Gray, I rescheduled the pee break for later. She had a fun little set in front of a very small (but very dedicated) audience. I don't understand why the capacity limit of this stage was so low. However, MANY people were watching from outside the "plaza". If you're looking for a feeling of exclusive experience and dedicated crowd and have 30 minutes to spare, this is the right stage. Also, to whoever recommended Babymorocco, thanks, it was kinda silly, but very high energy set. I would definitely come back to this stage today, if not for the clashes.
