2017 on Spotify

Turns out my year on Spotify was dominated by acts who played Glastonbury this year, or I vainly hoped would do.  The only exception is my number one track, which bizarrely is being listed as a Hans Zimmer production (the will.i.am version is clearly the best), which is a Saturday morning dancing favourite with my four year old and I.

Go on 2017wrapped.com .  It's a nice insight but they make you do a weird quiz about your music beforehand that probably seemed like a great idea when they were planning it but was just a bit annoying for me. and I only got 2 out of 3 right.

They also give you a playlist of songs you've missed and I'd listened to most of them on spotify so dunno what that's about.

The Discover playlist can be a bit like that.  It sometimes throws up songs I've listened to loads.

Although on second thought, if I didn't listen to them on Spotify itself, then that proves the algorithm is working.

What's worse is I just tried it again in a fresh browser and got the same number of minutes.  You might know you beat 100k, but it won't show you

It says I've only skipped 160 songs, I think that's quit a lot but it reckons that means I'm a ride-or-die. 

And then it turns out neither Ride nor Die are in my top 5 artists. something strange is afoot.

Also mostly played The National and Radiohead in my car all year (I still use CDs in my car), so those two have had some pretty heavy listening this year.
