Dare I ask what happens with AA batteries on a normal friday night in there Woffy house ?

They power my cassette recorder, on which I press record & play simultaneously to record my favourite choons to listen back to later and then do a neatly labelled tape-to-tape mixtape to play while cruising in the Cortina to a rave party.

That would have been my guess

Something which can only be accomplished in fancy dress.

Solar fairy lights and lanterns to put round the tent- helpful in the dark to find the tent. Oh and lots of glitter! None of it essential but I always bring them.

I don't think of lights as non-essential, any more than the flagpole with lights all the way up.  If you can't find your way home you're stuck.  On the other hand, if you can't find your way home you might have a good time........

A feather duster,  plastic telephone on a pole, a child's toaster and a camera which big bird pops out of....all came with us - and were used - at glastonbury '14.  Also tried to give out jam tarts  (not popular really)

Good fun!

I always take a bucket and use it to have a bit of a wash in my porch, I can even manage to wash my hair if I'm really in need of a sort out. Biodegradable shampoo/shower gel of course.

Really sorts you out.

I take a washing up bowl myself as nice to have a bit of a wash along with wet wipe clean :D

If you get really nice-smelling stuff, watching people's faces as they both get and smell clean is a delight. :)  I had mandarin scented last year which proved quite a hit.

I decantered some in to small bottle to take around with me and agree people really appreciate it when you offer it to them

Last year during 'Earth Wind and Fire' some lads rocked up with a full backpack each, stood a little bit uncomfortably close and generally looked a bit cagey.  A few mins later they all reached into their backpacks for fistfuls of glow sticks, cracked them and hurled them into the air. it was ABSOLUTELY MAGICAL.

Emboldened by this we took many hundreds of kazoos to Boomtown last year and the SHEER UTTER JOY they brought made it worth the effort - "no... just hum, don't blow, hummmm". HUMMMMM". Naturally, we'll be doing that again, sweet sweet tooty music.

I always buy shed loads of glow sticks and whilst haven't threw them in the air I have shared the glow stick love at many a festival...... people love them

Chic in 2014 was a notable moment as kids near us were made up when handed them some glow sticks

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
