Does the previous business with the festival turning away gilmour, wright and Mason from headlining at the last minute mean were unlikely to ever see gilmour play?

I think he would be perfect for the Sunday Legend slot. I was at the concert Sunday as well and it was simply brilliant.

I took a few videos, here's one I've just uploaded.

I know people go on a lot about certain bands needing darkness for their shows, but Gilmour would be an absolute necessity with the light show that he and Floyd became so famous for. While not big enough to headline as a solo artist, due to him having a Pink Floyd heavy setlist I think subbing the Pyramid with the sunset would be ideal for him.

Cancer stricken richard wright wanted to play the festival with david gilmour and nick mason - and it is speculated that roger waters would have agreed to play too - as a dying wish (he'd always wanted to play glastonbury) but the festival organisers said no because they didnt want to upset jay z, kings of leon or the verve.

Pretty sure that all of those artists (particularly KOL as they were making that big step up to headliner) would have understood if the festival had turned round and said "Sorry lads, Pink Floyd want to play. You are going to have to sub instead"

They could've even headlined The Other Stage.

That was the year Michael was really trying to get the younger audience back in so Panic at the Disco headlined the instead. 

The lineup on the Friday on the Pyramid and the Other from 2008 is like some sort of joke lineup

I bet they wouldn't. Sounds like they decided at the last minute they fancied headlining Glastonbury. Breathtaking arrogance to expect to be able flounce in a few weeks before the festival and demand to headline. They were probably too good for the other stage.

See, I can make up details and use overly emotive language too.

Had the privilege of seeing roger warters there back in 2002. All the floyd guys are so talente. 

he'd surely deserve a headline slot?

I'm not even going to pretend that I didn't enjoy Panic at the Disco, we had a bloody good dance that evening haha!  We can't all have good taste in music
