i still think it's more likely he means 'in the future' rather than this year as obviously they're booked up that weekend and if they were playing they'd surely be in the first announcement. hopefully this means they're gonna make an effort to appear next year. long overdue

Would they really cancel a show in America to be at Glasto?

they'd have to cancel at least 2, probably 3, and they're co-headlining shows in a huge tour.

any other band I would have said they're cancelling the tour as they're too embarrassed to tour with Panic at the Disco, but it's Weezer....

Did they just say the same as the other night, ie. "see you at Reading, Leeds, Glastonbury and all the other UK festivals" following a thing earlier on about coming back to the UK more? Because that's perfectly harmless really, just meaning they're gonna try and play at some point (which is somewhat promising in itself) rather than an actual itinerary.

“We’ll be back this summer to play Reading and Leeds, Glastonbury and all the other England festivals!”

if that's what they actually said then either they're fucking round with people or they just have no idea that they aren't booked for Glastonbury at all and are elsewhere at the time

Rivers definitely said something similar before Buddy Holly, but I kind of missed it due to enjoying myself! According to the mate I was with, he definitely mentioned Glastonbury. Social media is going mad about it, but they can't play this year...they can play Reading though!

From seeing him say it in person I'm sure he must mean he's playing them this year. So either he's actually gone mad, they're playing on the Thursday, or they're cancelling US shows...

It really came across that way, seemed like a normal self-confirmation (if there is such a thing). Which is very odd, seeing as they can't play Glastonbury. Unless poor old Pensyllvania or New Hampshire are about to get fucked over!

Didn't catch what he said tonight properly but he definately mentioned Glastonbury.

he probably noticed how much attention it got when he said it the night before.

I'm going with it being bullshit until the tourdates in the USA are removed from their website.

I dunno what Rivers is playing at but they 99% aren't playing. Unless of course they are doing a Thursday lineup with Radiohead and Weezer playing, but that would literally be my dream lineup (minus TOOL) so it almost definitely won't happen.

At least Glastonbury is on their radar. I'm keeping everything crossed they either headline the Other or sub headline the main next year. The possibility of Weezer into Radiohead is real...

This is my hope!!! They have caused a bit of a stir like the pixies did many years ago. Hopefully they will end up playing in a slot similar to the pixies.

You should be embarrassed at accepting a tour with Panic lol.

They won't be that high anyway, subbing Other yes.

I'm pretty sure Weezer would headline the Other stage if they played. Their 'tour' sold out in minutes and people have been desperate for them to play for years.

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
