Weezer?

l just left the Weezer gig at Manchester academy. (They were brilliant by the way)

Before playing Buddy Holly, Rivers said "See you all at Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury"

Im pretty sure they had been ruled out previously, but he 100% definitely said it. Both me and my mate heard it.

I thought they had been ruled out - I was really surprised when I heard it. If anyone else was there to verify the fact we sre not going mental, please do.

Shame though, they were really good tonight.

apparently put them under self-confirmed, too. It's weird because why would they say it if they weren't coming? I really hope they'll be there :D

Can't edit it for some reason. There should be '' in the beginning of the sentence

@FuzzyDunlop I was there too. Earlier in the set he said they'd be playing more shows over here in the future and at the end he definitely said 'see you at Reading, Leeds and Glastonbury and every other UK festival.' Obviously they're not playing EVERY UK festival but to namedrop those 3 seems weird if you're not playing

Reading and Leeds and Glastonbury are all UK towns, did he specify festivals? They might just be going on a road trip, taking in the sites, an innocent misunderstanding.

Thanks for clarifying. Glad I wasn't hearing things. When he said Glastonbury I turned to my mste and said "did you hear that?" I obviously missed the "and every other uk festival"

My mate also mentioned in the car "I would see them at Glasto too" so he took it how I did.

Maybe in 2017...

be a bit weird for them to say it at a gig this year, and i also doubt Weezer would've been booked this far in advance, but here's hoping. one of the acts i'm hope is gonna pop up every year. would be one of the sets of the weekend for sure

They were really good tonight. At the time I thought £35 was a bit too much, but I paid up anyway as I had never seen them before and had always meant to. So glad I did. They did 1 hour 15, then a 2 song encore, but packed a good 20 tunes in. Worth the money.

Plenty of their older stuff too - for anyone who wanted a classic heavy set.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
