The sun broke through the clouds yesterday evening and it was boiling! No rain overnight as far as I know. But the site is still pretty muddy and past saving in places.

"Past saving"? The 2005 festival would like to have a word.....

;)

Ha, honestly though the mud in some areas is quite difficult. Yesterday evening's sun has started to dry up the campsite pathways but I didn't notice much of a change elsewhere.

I agree! When the thunder woke me up the morning my immediate thought was god I hope it doesn't hit Glastonbury! Bloody miserable this morning, saw it coming though yesterday was so muggy!

So the weather is ok but...... The coaches aren't turning up at the o2! Good times

A month's worth of rain fell overnight in London, glad it's stayed dry for you all. Hope that mud dries soon.

Bad news for those still reading:

- Showers now back on the radar for both Friday and Saturday daytimes

- Met Office now saying fair chance they could be heavy on both days

Could change again, as yesterday pm we were totally clear.

Plus the radar shows them showing up in small, intense patches, so we could get lucky.

Recent history suggests not, though. Enjoy the sun today!

I don't know - we were very lucky to miss that storm yesterday - sounds like it got damn close. Especially if those scary-looking black clouds out to the west of the site were said storm!

Fingers crossed it hits so late that we've all left by the time it arrives! Lots of mud on site, nothing too treacherous but there are definitely sloppy areas and thick, sticky mud on most pathways and junction areas, could really do with it staying  dry long enough for it to firm up a little more.

Not the ones I'm looking at!

Met Office / BBC - 80% chance of heavy rain Friday evening, 50% chance of hail (hail!) Saturday, plus a yellow alert for rainfall.

If you were half full you'd say most of the rest of the time it's going to be sunny, but we don't want the word heavy near any rainfall.

Edit: Heavy rain has just been removed :)

I am wondering is the mud any worse than it was in 2011, which still seemed alright compared to those legendary pics of the mud and how bad 2005 in particular looked.

it wasn't so much the rain before the festival as much as the heavy rain as we arrived on Wednesday morning and then all day friday that killed me, i was so ill that night, yet miraculously got it together for the saturday and sunday and the sun returned from memory.

I was very surprised at how well the bit of site I saw tonight had held up. Much of it was passable with trainers or walking boots (with a few exceptions) and the track ways were completely dry. However, I didn't venture over the far side of the site so it might be very different there.

Last post as now heading to site finally...

Today is a lottery - sporadic showers, some heavy. Might get a light sprinkle, might get a soaking.

Saturday looking much worse suddenly - showers on off all day, band of heavy stuff in the pm.

Light rain through Sunday pm as well.

So all in all fairly shit.

Brace for impact!

    • Muse will be about but the issue with Muse is that they’ll have the pick of doing IOW, BST, Glasto, R&L or big parks/stadiums.

    • Not sure what this means for 2027 but it looks like Holt Farm's website and email are both now inactive and unavailable.   It'll be a shame if they don't operate for 2027 as it was an excellent alternative to the other off-site offerings.   Fingers crossed they're just enjoying their downtime 🤞
    • Deftones, Blink, Muse?   Deftones as the next bump up makes all the sense, Blink as the "band that has never played before" and round out with Muse as its been a long time since they headlined and they have a new album coming which seems on the heavier side from the singles so far.   I could see Muse do their own tour to be fair, maybe MCR in their place? Could also see Deftones switched out for Slipknot/SOAD depending on who is about.
    • I have no issue with the Primavera crowd in most respects. They’re always friendly, respectful and no hint that there could be trouble at any point.   However…the talking is horrific here. The xx was pretty much ruined for me due to people having conversations with their mates the whole way through. Noticed it from all different nationalities across the weekend…English, Irish, Spanish etc. There seems to be no understanding of the nuances of when it’s okay to talk and when it isn’t. And obviously the sound being quiet at a lot of spots on the main stages exacerbates the issue. That alone has made me reconsider whether I will be coming back, it would probably take a lineup as good as this year (unlikely)
