What do people have against the Brit School that they dont against art school or a classical music conservatoire? Maybe they would like all our actors and other entertainers from Eton instead?

I think there's a misconception about the place that it's an expensive private school for posh kids, when it's not like that at all.

I think I read the Wu-Tang Clan all met at Havard, ODB and Raekwon struck up a friendship over their shared love of chess playing. Didn't see you lot complainig when they were on the Pyramid.

That aside (there's probably a thread for that subject), I think Adele would/will be a triumph. Not my thing, and I'll be elsewhere but I fully expect to get home on the Monday after and read how well received the show was.

Emily covers this very well in the interview, if you could be bothered to read it:

 

'I think it goes beyond just festivals and right back to labels and radio support. Obviously we're choosing from, particularly for the major stages, bands at a certain level and it's really important that those bands are women, and that they're nurtured from the start in the same way that men are. We spend a lot of time looking at bands to chose from but we're just presented with so many male acts. And I think that's because it goes back to finding less women, radio playing less women and then, as a result, agents sending us more men [...] So it's really important for us to be at the forefront of booking women, addressing it so it's completely equal. Because it is hard, to be honest. Even this year, when we've consciously tried to book as many female acts on the main stages, it's still almost impossible to do because there aren't as many female acts at that level [...] There are a lot of old school men in music, particularly in the live industry. It's quite obvious when you look at a list of all the booking agencies, there really are only a handful of women. It's very male dominated and, yeah, I feel really strongly about it because obviously my background is working in this world with a hell of a lot of men on the industry side.'

Wolf Alice is a better slot this time eh? Enough info to move from from an R on the rumours page yet Neil?

Their gig at The Park last year was a highlight, would be a big win to get them back again this year

Maybe i'm being cynical but it seems the way the big record companies work with artists these days is "we'll take care of the music and you just focus on social media", it works I suppose.
