Yup - sad to say that "Lammo" is the worst thing on 6Music by a country mile, forever stuck in an unloved backwater of 1990s indie music where Midway Still are the hot young act on the block and Kingmaker are gods.

Speaking of which, did that lad from Kingmaker (Loz? Loz Hardy springs to mind) ever top himself as promised? He seemed to bang on about it regularly as some sort of gesture to it being futule and redundant living past a certain age.

Hopefully the daft tit got laid and grew out of it.

I am looking for some recommendations as well. Are Wolf Alice any cop? I thought it was indie landfill.

I'm just getting into the album now and really loving it. The 90s comparisons are fair, but they don't necessarily sound like any one specific band. I really hope they play - ideal on a sunny afternoon on the Other, or late in the evening on JP (could they headline JP against Adele? would be great for me).

I loathe indie landfill, so they're clearly not it.

Anyway, I'll call it, I think they are potential future headliners.

I didn't think much of them to start with but am starting to like them a lot, and by all accounts they are better live than on record. They certainly aren't landfill.

Have a listen to all the TBCs and SRs (and confirmed acts) and find your own recommendations on this here playlist.

Yep, much better live. The album is too polished for me. I've hardly listened to it as a result.

I said the same about them last year. I reckon they are on for big things. Saw them again the other night. Very good live!

With all the confirmed and self confirmed, how do people think the line up is looking compared to last year?

For me personally I could not really ask for more with New Order, James, St Etienne and Stereo MC's. Last year I was only really bothered about Hot Chip.

Well, for me so far it's all a bit hmmmm. A couple of months ago I was worried about how to fit in Sigur Ros, Animal Collective, Battles, Explosions in the Sky and loads more. Now I'm worried I might get none of them. This is a tricky time for me since, if none of the 'big' names interest me (and they usually don't), then the real joy for me lies quite deep in the undercard, and all this anticipation of the poster will not help me with that!

Leeds electronic (formerly post-rock) group Vessels doing the Glade on Saturday according to this. That should be good.

Here's what they sound like

However, further to my words above, this is bloody BRILLIANT news - and on the Glade too, which I bloody love!!

I'm hoping for a PSB-style late night headliner slot then, which will be great as I ain't watching Adele, New Order etc.

Whilst complaining about the lineup at this time of year is a little futile, there does seem to be a lack of acts that I’d ‘love’ to see there touring this summer. Of the possibles, if we can get two or three from Kendrick, Beck, .Paak, Destroyer and Cube then I’ll be happy.

Oh yes. Ideal scenario for me.

Vessels are absolutely class, cheers for pointing this one out! One I will definitely be at and would heartily recommend to anyone into electronic music

Another convert.  And I accidentally came across the Jezabels' new album by accident this morning.  I wanted something with synthesisers in it, so searched for "synth" and "Synthia" popped up.

Good day for music for me so far!

1992 just phoned. They want their lineup back.

I knew this was coming and I kind of understand. In my defence New Order are my joint fave band of all time and James are in the top 5. I was always going to watch them 2 no matter what. I have never ever seen St Etienne or Stereo MC's and Glasto seems like the perfect time. My mate is definitely coming so I am not riding solo. I expect to spend a lot of time round the Blues and West Holts due to my mates tastes so I need to have some guilty pleasures of my own.

I've seen them live three times now (once at the Park, twice in Glasgow), they've been excellent every time. The album is good but they're definitely better live than they are on record. Would recommend getting along to see them this year if you can.

And as a bit of shameless self promotion you can also read the review I did of their recent Barrowlands gig here http://secondcitycitizen.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/wolf-alice-glasgow-barrowlands.html?m=1:)

Will give them ago then mate. The lady singer who keeps popping up on my twitter feed for something or other is absolutely stunning.

Though no talk of the "New Catfish" is complete without this priceless cornucopia of ladband fail:

Not going to click the link as I think this will be about Alias Kid. The bass player is a good friend of mine who worked with me for 10 years. The tunes they make are a bit lad rock for my tastes these days but Nick is a sound lad who has grafted like hell. If anyone deserves a bit of luck and success then it is him.

I like the Jezabels. Check The Penelopes out, they are fantastic.

Tell them they can't have it. And while you're at it, see if they'll lend us PWEI, Carter, Sugar and The Sisters of Mercy, will you? Tell them they can have Catfish, Kanye and Taylor Swift in return.

ooooh given all the old bands that are coming out the woodwork lately I would love Sisters of Mercy to play, just re-bought Floodlands recently great album :)

another point I agree that this year has potentially to be great given the level of lower slot bands touring at the moment.. I don't like top heavy lineups so hope have a nice spread like 2014 (which for me was best lineup overall), the Saturday night under cards clashes was something else though!!

not saying I'm so set on certaincy with regards to them doing WH imperticular, but I've seen someone on here in another thread say it too. What is the main audience for WH?

West Holts is all about World Music, Jazz, Funk, Hip Hop, Soul etc. The Bottle Men are indie and so they wouldn't fit in with the West Holts stages vibes. Vibes greatly enhanced by the Brothers Bar in that field. Personally, I like the Tutti Frutti :)

Just realised how my reply is now old news. Oh well...!

Sorry, they said there was a mix up with the order so they've looked in the '92 cupboard and are sending you BoyzIIMen, 2unlimited and Billy Ray Cyrus instead.

Haven't been on here in while, but are those self-confirms??

Sorry - didn't mean to confuse. No, my point was that before lots of toher festival/gig announcements, all were looking promising if not likely. Now I'm sadly pretty confident that neither SR or AC will be at the Farm. I still think that EITS are a good bet for a Park headliner. Now that Vessels are on Saturday I'm hoping for Friday or Sunday!

:)

Get yourself to Primavera/Nos Primavera - all of those you mentioned are playing both!
