Radiohead touring in 2016

After a seventh listen, this album is blooming. Absolute bliss to the ears!

Every track gets better and better. And I mean every track. 

The production is sublime. Love the slight disjointed start to many of the songs. Feels like a band playing to me, rather than a recording. 

For example that intro to Glass Eyes is breathtaking. Their use of piano in the album is second to none.

Adoring the haunting use of choir.

The reverb and vocals lines on Thoms vocals is stunning.

When I notice other bits and pieces, I will be sure to point them out.

Is it me or is there a slight Reflektor feel to some of the production in this album? I feel that the reverb, and possibly bass and SFX are of a similar ilk. 

Its a pretty good thing, considering Reflektor too is a very very fond album of mine.

I had that thought with the Present Tense actually. I thought the best bits of Reflektor were brilliant but too many duds on there. And as you can tell I'm a fan generally.

I just realised it's only possible to have listened to it around thirty times and we're really racking up a decent percentage of that.  

I listened to it a fifth time and I think the honeymoon period is over and I'm into that 'this bit isn't as good as I remembered' funk. Will have to leave it a week or so.

I'm the opposite. I'm finding I'm loving it more with each listen.

Am I just imagining it or is there another reversed sound thingy happening at the end of Tinker Tailor ... similar to Daydreaming but more subtle?

You're right, more backwards stuff at the end of that song. My impression is that there's a fuck ton of backwards stuff on this record.

Good to know that I'm not the only one. It will be harder to reverse and atune than the Daydreaming one and people are still unsure what exactly he says/sings. I'm really excited to discover more 'easter eggs' (or should I say jigsaws falling into place) on the album!

Yeah I think most are that way. I don't often get like that, sadly.

Yeah there is. I love the ending to TTSSRMPMBMT. Chaos descends and they disappear into a smokecloud. Would've made for a great album closer but I can concede that TLW ending the piece is more affecting.

Just a thought, if they do tour with a full string section, then there's probably going to be the definitive live version of Everything In Its Right Place.

It is so eerily beautiful with a wonderful ending. It blew me away the first time I heard it. Many people don't seem to like it as much though.

It's good. It's very good. I purposely didn't read reviews, but here is my quick one.

It sounds like it could be a soundtrack to a film. Loads of strings, grandiose at times. It's an album I personally didn't see coming from them, but I am pleased it's here.

Highlights - Burn the Witch, Identikit, Ful Stop and finally Glass Eye.... I didn't see that coming. Not sure why it surprised me so much, but it struck me as something I never thought I'd hear from Radiohead. 

I might need to hear it a few more times to make a full review, but it is big in emotion and feeling. I like it.

Strong 8/10.

This place amazes me with it's Radiohead love-in Not that it's a bad thing, it's just so bloody random that such a m massive percentage of a festival forum can be such nerds of a band like Radiohead after all of this time. You would think that this was originally a Radiohead forum, that developed into a festival forum afterwards. I don't know how it's happened, but its been amusing to watch you all over the last few months.

Radiohead have the knack of making music which stretches the listener but with payback!! Give time to listen to the band and you know you there is a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!! They are the greatest studio band of our generation who can talk the talk and walk the walk live. Watch their 2003 Glastonbury performance!! The first 30 minutes is just spellbinding!!

I am now fully converted to the new True Love Waits, I was walking to work this morning with it playing and getting huge feels thinking about Radiohead playing it on the Pyramid just has the sun is disappearing, the crowd all singing along together arms around each other

I think it's a masterpiece. I loved the acoustic version (and still do), but it's such a special song to close an album with. I'm glad they saved it until now. It fits the new album perfectly. I can absolutely see why they decided to include it on this record.

No matter how many times I listen to this album I keep getting more and more sucked into it. Some of the production is unbelievable. My favourite song at the moment is probably Daydreaming but I can see it changing.

On another note, I noticed late last night they were doing a white vinyl version in indie stores but every indie store I can think of that has a website has sold out! Typical! Will have to settle for good ol' black vinyl.
