Radiohead touring in 2016

Radiohead are pricey, above the going rate I'd say. I go to a lot of Blur gigs and they tend to be in the region of £30. It's just a question of deciding whether it's worth it for you. I decided not to see them at the o2 for £70-something because it's a massive venue and it seemed like a bit of a piss take. But the Roundhouse is special so I will be trying for this.

Just wanted to say good luck to everyone trying for the tickets Friday, you can't even buy them after they've sold out - it's physically impossible to resell tickets or exchange tickets with others, so once they're gone, they're gone. I'll be trying myself, good luck!

Is that right? They had the Ticket Trust thing last tour but as they don't seem to be using Sandbag this time I guess that's out of the window.

yeah this is the spiel from the Roundhouse site:

Tickets are strictly limited to 2 tickets per person across all shows

The name of the lead booker will be printed on each ticket. The name cannot be changed once the booking has been made.

The lead booker will be asked to present photo ID to gain entry into the venue. Acceptable forms of photographic ID are: Passport, driving license, CitizenCard or Photocard. Tickets will not be refunded if you arrive without one of the above forms of ID.

If you are booking more than one ticket your guests must arrive at the concert at the same time as you. Failure to do so will result in the guests being turned away.

Tickets cannot be resold. Any tickets resold will not be valid for entry.

Tickets cannot be exchanged or refunded.

Tickets acquired through a secondary source will be invalid.

Due to ID checks, the queue may move slower than usual. Please arrive in plenty of time to avoid disappointment.

On the Roundhouse website there's a list of restrictions, i'll narrow them down quickly. Tickets cannot be refunded, photo ID is required upon entry also to prove it's you whose name is on the ticket, and you cannot change the name once the ticket has been ordered. Second hand tickets will not be valid. Very strict...

Agreed. No way of selling them to another fan for face value and no refund available seems like a shitty way of doing things, though I appreciate the sentiment.

There are places like Twickets now though that are working with promoters who put these kind of ID checks in place.

For example for The Last Shadow Puppets upcoming tour, it's the same deal with the name being printed on the ticket and ID checks but they've teamed up with Twickets to allow resale only through the site itself. Not sure how it works entirely but I imagine it's similar to how Radiohead used the Ticket Trust thing on the TKOL tour - which was a lifesaver because it was the only way I managed to bag a ticket.

 

I can see ID checks becoming more frequent, Bruce Springsteen's stadium tour has the same restrictions put in place too.

they're in a totally different league from the previous Other openers and i doubt they'd deliver the necessary 'crowd pleasing' set that that slot demands. could you imagine a crowd of sleepy curious people sticking around for a live rendition of Feral?

The tickets are expensive but definitely the going rate for a band of RH's size. Springsteen's tickets are much more expensive!

Pretty sure tickets were a lot more pricey on the TKOL tour but then the Roundhouse is much smaller than any other venue they played then.

point being, the wording doesnt tell us anything about headlining/not headlining glastonbury.

pretty obvious that they are gonna be announced for several other festivals this year (i.e. outside lands, acl, lolla) you think they're not headlining those festivals? not a chance.

Yep. It doesn't eliminate secondary selling completely, but the person selling needs to go to the gig and can only sell one extra. Seems fair and a little flexible.

Yeah fair, just thought I'd check I wasn't missing anything with people saying it's impossible to buy one second hand.

Anyway, I'm going to try and grab two Thursday tickets (day doesn't matter to me and I'd expect Thursday to be the slowest to sell) but my friends don't know their exam timetables yet (thankfully I finish the day before said gig), so I may potentially have a spare to offer up on here if I get lucky.

The name will be on both tickets so you need to go in with the lead booker
