Interesting stuff. So working on that basis the realistic options (in no particular order are):

Radiohead are headlining The Pyramid on Saturday because Adele has dropped out

Radiohead are co-headlining The Pyramid on Saturday alongside Adele

Radiohead are subbing to Adele

Radiohead are headlining the Other

Radiohead are playing a smaller secret set at some other point of the weekend

I say no particular order, that's probably my order of preference.

IMO I'd rather they headlined another stage than played before Adele, the field would be half full of people with no interest in Radiohead trying to a "get a good spot" for Adele and it would ruin the atmosphere somewhat

Tbh it might be a situation where we shouldn't be too picky :P

Cheers for your snippets Neil.

I care not where or when Radiohead play. So long as they play a full set then I will be there with bells on no matter who else is playing. Their 2003(?) set was the first Glasto set I watched on the telly and was what got me into them. I have long since wanted to see them (not counting the KOL set they did on the Park) at Glasto and it finally looks like we might all get the chance :D

*listens to Hail to the Thief for the 300th time this week*

Hmm, it's not such a leap to assume that if he didn't know about headlining neither did they yet.

having joined up some dots this morning about the source, they're not necessarily going to get the slot info so I wouldn't read too much into them not knowing when they told me.

Is it not possible that they thought the TBA slot that the Libertines ended up doing, added something to the festival and they might do that again but with Radiohead subbing one of the days?

They don't have to be Saturday do they? Although Radiohead opposite Muse or Coldplay does seem weird it's not beyond the realms of possibility.

Not neccasserily but if the festival were to stick them up against a headliner, Adele, the one most likely to pull a ridiculous crowd and the one who doesn't fit your traditional headliner idea, would definitely make the most sense. As you say, up against Coldplay or Muse doesn't make much sense at all

I really can't see Radiohead doing anything but headlining - waaaay too big for Other or for a sub slot. They could headline any other festival in the world. Adele on the other hand, certainly big enough to headline too, but given the reports about nerves and the sort of artist she is (i.e. a bit stand there and sing ballads) - I could see her more likely to do a sub slot or an afternoon slot as a 4th headliner or something.

'special guest' Adele doing a slot early evening for the TV.....?

But then, what do I know.

Thanks for the info Neil!

You might wanna withdrawn that. ;)

I've just had info from another direction that there's no UK festies from RH this year - tho there is room within that for a secret set.

Am trying to get updated word from the original direction, but whether I will I don't know.

    • went to their album launch show last night at the george tavern. it was fantastic! absolutely roasting in there though
    • I got mine yesterday but they sent the wrong ticket link, so had to email Ticketmaster and get the right one.    As for predictions, hard to see who else could do the Pulp/Sting/Byrne slot other than the Cure, and since they did Isle of Wight they maybe have an FR deal (Sting did both). It’s also the Cure’s 50th next year so imagine they’ll be doing a bigger tour. Pet Shop Boys or Kylie maybe?   Wolf Alice would be a dream. It’ll probably all be men again though.
    • Probably a couple of months yet....last ticket sale announcement was 10th October 2024.
    • watched Mystic River for the first time, overall i thought it was superb.   good shows from the three leads, well made, interesting and pretty solid all round.   a minor character moan tho - i thought the "Savage brothers" were ridiculous, they were like cartoon villains and kinda took  you out of the movie abit with their dastardly antics.   also, i hated, and i mean i HATED the ending.   there is a scene where Kevin Bacon is talking to Sean Penn in the morning after the night everything happens, and he says to him "when did you last see Dave"... then we get a close up of Sean Penns face, and you can see the cogs going round and he is struggling to decide what he is going to say... if the screen had cut to black at that moment it would have been the perfect ending... everything that happens after that is totally pointless and just detracts from the great movie you have just seen.   but i liked it. can't actually believe i never saw it before.   🙂
    • I’ve also got a media contact who gets hospitality tickets, he says their allocation of them is slightly reduced this year. The few Off site ultra expensive glamping/hospitality ticket packages mostly sold out a while ago. Some just after the 2025 festival ended.
