my misses left the house this morning commanding me to get tickets for the Bristol shows.

1. tickets this morning are for a pre-sale where you had to register before last night. She didn't register.

2. there are no Bristol shows.

(I'm very surprised there's no Bristol shows ... I'm guessing they've been booked for some opening shows for Bristol's new arena venue , tho that won't open till 2018).

I was disappointed there's no Bristol date as well to be honest, reckon they'll add one?

Surely they're not holding them back as they want to do arena dates in 3 years time?

Got tickets for Manchester just now. Surprising as I saw LOTS of hype for this on Facebook. Bit miffed as I put my email in last night as instructed, on the agreement they'd email me with presale information. No email. Don't really matter though because I'm going to see two of my favourite bands, right around the time of my birthday.

Portsmouth and Leicester looks about the only places with standing tickets still left, the second night they had pencilled in on their website for Glasgow has now been released, they had a third for Brixton on the website too but nothing as of yet

Edit:

Third night at Brixton now announced

Anyone going to london tonight, or seen them already?

I havent even got round to listening to the new EP yet so I'm going in to this gig with virgin ears.

It's in brixton so I'll swing by the bowie shrine first.

Lots of decent food places in brixton too these days, since the yuppies gentrified it.

Happy days!

I saw them in Leicester a few weeks ago. Absolutely mega set. The new material sounds great too! It's surprising they aren't really in the running (or so it seems) for Glastonbury as their current set would be incredibly appropriate for the festival.

They'd only really fit Other headliners and they did that two years ago so its highly unlikely they'll be back

I saw them in Dublin a couple of weeks ago and they were fantastic, despite idiotic bad reviews calling them churlish for not playing unfinished symphony.

I missed young fathers since I was working and only got the ticket last minute but heard they were great, came back on for a song and were good

I saw them in Brighton on monday and they were brilliant, as were Young Fathers.

I was there too and both were excellent. I understand from some friends who had guest passes that Robert Del Naja's mum was in the crowd which probably explains why he was in such a good mood.

Probably the best time I have seen them, even better than when they recently headlined the Other stage and that was a highlight for me.

Only issue I had was, much as I like her, Martina Topley-Bird is no Liz Fraser on Teardrop!

glad to hear all these positive reports!

I dont care if they've dropped unfinished sympathy but I really hope they play karmacoma for me.....bugger all chance no doubt.

We got Karamacoma in Manchester the other night. It was OK, but definitely the least good out of all the songs they played that weren't newies, there were some mic probablems during the song, and they looked pretty visibly pissed off about it. Pretty great show all in all, the new material sounds fantastic, the visuals are as amazing as always, the classics were more than welcome. Young Fathers stole the show in the encore. I should really get listening to that new EP.

Caught them a couple of weeks ago. Not a crowd pleasing set (heard a few moans) but one of the best things I've seen in a while. Sorry Russy, wouldn't say your chances of Karmacoma are that great.

I'm with you on this OB, I heard a fair few moans at tunes missing from the set in Glasgow, I had a great time, thoroughly enjoyable

Saw them at Portsmouth Guildhall. Had a sensory overload with the music, the screens, and the epiliptic lighting. I thought I had actually gone blind at one point. Great set though.

And i agree with other posters that Young Fathers were quite good. I especially enjoyed the track they came on for at the end with Massive Attack

    • Yesterday was another brilliant day of music for me. Some highlights:  My Bloody Valentine - absolutely loved it! Maybe my main festival highlight. I felt submerged in the music with all the layers and distortion. It becomes hypnotic almost as it progresses. Not as loud as some thought it might be, but it didn’t need to be. The visuals added a lot too. During the noise part of You Made me Realise, I was basically in a trance staring at the visual tunnel or whatever it was on screen. Amazing experience. Little Simz - as she mentioned at the start, you’re guaranteed a good time with her. Great performance just like in 2022. Zero complaints. The little DJ section wasn't something I expected but was cool. Kneecap - I had a blast but at this point in the night I was at my most intoxicated let's say, so I don’t remember it as clearly as I'd have liked to!    The xx - The sound for this was perfectly balanced (at least where I was) and the band were great. Lots of talkers, but with the crowd size and being kind of far back, it's to be expected. Intro was one of my favourite moments this year. Big Thief - really good live performers. The lead singer has a lovely voice. This was a nice chill way to kick off the mordor gigs for me.
    • I've been attending Primavera every year since my first one in 2017 & it's always been my favourite week of the year, but I think things have changed.   Firstly, the site just feels too busy in this current set-up. I'm sure it was a lot easier back in 2017-19 to get between the stages & then a good spot for the next one, but now you increasingly have to sacrifice parts of a set or miss them out completely to plan for later on. I wish we still had the Bits area over the bridge to spread everyone out.   But the main issue is the talking, it's always been here but this year it's been relentless & I just can't tolerate it any more. It's at every stage, and everywhere from the front to the back, there is no escape. Not focusing on nationalities, but a major dynamic now seems to be groups of people who are only focusing on their own good time & aren't interested if this affects anyone else. It seems essential that all members of the group are together at the same time, so it's people making telephone calls, people on shoulders waving phone torches, people barging through. It's alright, I'm only trying to watch The Cure here.   I will have a year away to think about it. I thought might give up completely but yesterday was a bit of a classic day after two unenjoyable ones. Adding Olivia Rodrigo to Baxter Dury, Gelli Haha, The XX, Gorillaz & Kneecap shows how good it can be, but as with everything, it's always the people that have the biggest impact.
