rocket lounge was brill last year but it was rammed this year, I couldnt even get in the place!

Was there at midnight on Sunday. Two people in there when the band came on. Literally, two!

Went off for a ramble and came back an hour later and it was rammed.

Great boozer though. Nothing like it when the place is rocking to a good ska band.

Shangri La feels stale and a bit same old, same old - it should go back to the alleyways it had a few years ago.

Agreed loved the alley ways and the small clubs with bands in them not just DJ sets,

But its a lost vagueness thing so why would it be in the Park? Had my wedding reception in there.

fair enough tradition/sentimentality, but for most people, its just a venue at a festival and the majority of people going to SE corner at that time of night just want to hear / get into a venue to have a dance to some house/techno/disco/bass

Hang on Shangri-La was quite changed this year - for a start there was the CND Maze and Brainwash, without all the other minor changes like Heaven being split into four areas, and no Snakepit. There's another year to run on the story ark - though I hear it's going to go for the jugular with 'media' firmly in it's sights. Then it'll be a new story arc and no more Heaven & Hell.

Where was Brainwash? Saw them all over social media in the lead up, then completely missed them when I was there.

We saw an amazing band in the house of come ons while The Who were on but it doesnt look like anyone on the official listings.

Saw a great band in there on the Thursday night, well, only caught one song... Gutted because they were excellent.

SE corner used to be a dirty little secret, but now it's just stupidly busy. I took up 2 newbies up there this year after bigging it up to them, not impressed, actually felt embarrased I took them to such a crushed up area.

opposite house of Come-Ons and the 16 year old bored schoolgirl slumber party - in the big hexagon thing. Next door to Shangri-Lati (the pole dancing outdoor venue) and the Squat Party

To me it was pretty much identical to last year, which is a shame it used to be one of the most innovative areas of the festival.

Only thing identical was the colour! There were a load of new venues this year - Shrinel Richie, Pluto, Posthumanists, Monster Ravers, BNP, Brainwash, House Of Come-Ons, Slumberparty, Squat, U-slip, Shangri-Lati, CND Maze (and venues). I missed SickSickSick and thought it wasn't matched by Snangri-Lati, the only returning venue was Love & Bullets i think Edited by 5co77ie

    • Geese playing for 1:20 instead of just an hour was a lovely surprise. The energy was great!
    • Oh well that's why then, I assumed it was still the same. Thanks!
    • Think this will be it...I think they are a level above trees.
