As I say every few weeks: update please! Is it still:

Muse Vs LCD

Adele Vs New Order

Bring me the Horizon

With Foals subbing one day?

Also, when do we usually get an announcement?

Ta!

This is still the same and it seems Foals are subbing Friday as they are playing elsewhere on Sunday.

Even if they don't have any new material, they'd still be a better 'get' than re-booking Coldplay or Muse.

I'd take practically anyone over that lot. It just doesn't seem to be the way Glastonbury likes to do things. When they've booked 'reunion' acts before, eg Blur, The Verve, it's been on the first leg of their tours, when the hype is massive. I can't see them wanting to get the Roses at this stage, when they (presumably) could have done so in 2013, 2014, 2015...

I really don't like The Rosses. I missed out on the hype when they were out and never got into them since, the reunion buzz did nothing either.

I wonder if the same people that really want Radiohead/Stone Roses are the same people complaining about Muse/Coldplay and wishing for 'new' headliners.

Technically stone roses would be a new headliner

Is there some substance to it

Or just it's as ridiculous as it sounds

I'm thinking either that one of those supposed stage headliners has got to be wrong, or the bookers are having a laugh.

You know what my info is, tho it's always possible that it's wrong ... then again, other parts of the Roses suggestion could also be wrong. Make up your own mind. :)

Is this pointing to NO into Stone Roses or Stone Roses on Pyramid and NO on Other at the same time?

Paltry few watching New Order than night one would think.

Seriously doubt GFL have Muse/Roses/Coldplay however, irrespective of what Reni told me.

I'm thinking that ioW has the Roses and they're being held back from announcing them cos tix are still available for all Manc shows. I could be wrong, that's only a guess.

But I've got nothing at all to put them in the frame for Glasto, and every bit of info I've had that I've thought would come in good so far this year has done ... and I still think Adele will.

it's me saying that the bookers have gone insane if they've put the Roses up against New Order.

the bookers have Muse and Coldplay...... what makes you think they are Sane?

Surely the only way it could happen is up NO are 'heading' but play 2nd from top meaning you can see the end and go to the Pyramid after.

Also I'm fairly sure The Stone Roses only have 3rd/4th tier tickets left for the opening Wednesday, the other sold out easily from what I remember.

hmmmm... Stone Roses up against New Order on the Other?

There is absolutely no chance of that happening, New Order's crowd would be very small. Too much on an unnecessary clash.

which is what I was pointing out. :)

I don't even want to contemplate such things without a ticket, but if I get lucky then I would more than welcome Roses to headline the Saturday with New Order doing the Friday or Sunday (if there's any chance your source has their NO day info wrong).

    • What is too old for Leeds Fest now ?  I'm going to the Fontaines Saturday in a few weeks at 54 !!!  I may be the oldest there 🙂    Wythenshawe may be an option for WA.
    • Pretty much all festivals lose out on major artists because of production limitations though. Glastonbury is no different to most other festivals.  Lots of acts can/will adapt their tour production to suit festival stages if they want to play them, but some acts with stage designs and routines just don't want to adapt, and would rather just stick with a rigid, well-rehearsed production and take the money for their own gigs, whether that's a lot more than playing Glastonbury, or slightly less than playing some other festivals (but with added complications). Trying to adapt the stage, layout, access to b-stages etc to accommodate a single headliner on a Friday and then having to change it all around for a Saturday headliner isn't really a goer when most headliners can just easily adapt their show to stay on a main stage, if they're so inclined. They have a year to figure out how to perform a song on a main stage and ditch a few dance routines out on a b-stage if they really put their mind to it. It's not that difficult......
    • I would be all over Wolf Alice but may have outgrown this venue.    Also have to consider the schedule they have been on this year so may be on a break.  This last 10 days alone they did Tramlines, New York, Chicago and Kendal Calling.  Although make hay while the sun shines may come into play.
