Hmm. Some childish arguments going down. The fact is that from Kid A onwards Radiohead became a much more leftfield band with some brilliant but difficult tunes in the mix. They are still enormously popular amongst discerning music fans as this forum shows but their stock has dipped quite a bit. I don't think they are quite the mega brand that they were in 2003. Is it possible that they could be on before Adele who everyone tells me is the biggest artist in the world right now and who Emily seems to worship. They may well have become available rather later than expected and it was a case of "love to have you back but we finally persuaded Adele to sign - you can go on before her - there will be a MASSIVE crowd who will just love you". Just a thought.

Don't think Radiohead is going to sub the pyramid to anyone. Not even Adele, not even Coldplay. I don't care how popular those other two acts are. By merit alone they would be the headliners.

In my opinion, if they do play Glastonbury this year, it's either a Pyramid stage Headline slot, or a surprise set ala Park 2011 (which I find it unlikely as well given Emily most recent comments).

Radiohead and Tool are the only two currently performing bands who I think would sell out any festival they play. They have a mystique about them that hardly any band can match, and there is no way that they would be subbing anyone, yet alone Adele. If they are keen to play then they will headline, and if they're not headlining this year they will not be playing until at least 2017.

Mate I am not in the know or anything like that. My friend who I go all the gigs and festivals with is good friends with one of the bands family members. The said family member has told my friend that there will be new tunes. He has been good for little snippets before. He told me about the tour and it specifically being the Etihad, which I posted on here. The bits I got were pretty much the same as Sheffield Lady on here. The only thing amiss is that we were a few days off with the timing of the announcement. Sheffield Lady was bang on the money with her info as it turned out in the end.

Like I said it is not a lot really. He did say a little more but it would not be right for me to say. 

It was only the other day that I was saying on here the Roses would be taking the piss if they toured again with no new music. It is nice to know though that there will be new music and they are not just after chasing the money :-)

I completely believe you as I trust you with anything related to this city but as someone who hasn't seen them before I'm perfectly okay with them playing pretty much the same set they did last time in June, I'd be a bit worried about new songs not being as good as the old which happens time and time again with classic bands (cough except New Order's newest output cough)

Nice one mate. I've not bothered with tickets for the Etihad either, wasn't expecting new material and have seen them a good few times from the '80's on. I'll pick one up nearer the time thiugh if this new material comes to pass.

It's basically nailed on this year though to be fair. Rumour is an announcement second week of March.
