ICGenie
The etymology of the word 'berk' is more surprising than one might think considering how easily it gets bandied about... This is my favourite bit of education for a long time, thank you for that one!
Woffy
My pleasure. Tomorrow we shall discuss why 'palindrome' isn't a palindrome. And how that word backwards, but not palindromically, is under consideration as a new word of its own in the OED.

Avalon_Fields
Boring! What's the appeal of IoW over Glastonbury? Is it just money, I may be naive but would they really just go for the loot, not the Kudos of Glasto?
Justiceforcedave
Shame it's on a fucking Island and only sells weekend tickets too! If I could get a day ticket I'd be all over it.
Red Day
Boring! What's the appeal of IoW over Glastonbury? Is it just money, I may be naive but would they really just go for the loot, not the Kudos of Glasto? Money talks I suppose. Personally I think it's a daft decision by them but they must be offered a trailer load of cash
the wonderwhy
Shame it's on a fucking Island and only sells weekend tickets too! If I could get a day ticket I'd be all over it. They do day tickets. £75 last year.
justanothername
Boring! What's the appeal of IoW over Glastonbury? Is it just money, I may be naive but would they really just go for the loot, not the Kudos of Glasto? Judging by their ticket prices for their tour I'd say they care more about the money

CaledonianGonzo
Rats. If Angus Young also duckwalks in the Other direction I dunno if the prospects are super rosy for a slamdunk of a lineup.

Woffy
So what's the iow festival like,I've never been,I presume its very corporate a bit like V and the like. Am I right? No idea...all i know if a mate who went recently complained like hell that certain areas get opened and closed at various times of day / night. No idea if that's true...sounds guff if it is. It happened to me at an exploratory trip to V in Staffordshire one year. Never again - what a shit, dump, guff 'festival'. I should've know better. Thearg
Yeah, it's just a gig in a field. Don't bother going, you won't like it. Trouble is that's exactly what we say to Glastonbury newbies to put them off.
CaledonianGonzo
IOW has, what, two stages? If you don't fancy what's on the main stage you're more or less scuppered.
