Caribou would be a great park headliner, the new album isn't as good as Swim, but they're still great live.

The set I saw at WHP was a bit of a slow build but by the end it was going off! Can't do without you, is monstrous live.

It was WHP where I saw them. Start of the set was slightly ruined by large groups of young girls barging around, clearly not interested in the music. Once they got bored and cleared off I had a great night :)

Yeah it was the same for me too. It was still loads better than Victoria warehouse though, what a horrible venue that is.

I wasn't overly impressed with four tet afterwards; that was a really dense and awkward set I thought.

Agree, the set felt a little flat after Caribou. Definitely not vintage Four Tet.

I never made it to Victoria Warehouse, I wonder what the new venue will hold. From I understand is going to be a massive uplift in capacity so not holding my breath...

Can't do without you, in my opinion, is the best single to be released in 2014. Incredible.

Why do you think GY!BE are so unlikely, Tuna? I agree, that would be ridiculously exciting...

Ben

Having seen them at their own gigs, they seem like the sort of band that need a long set and quite a backdrop as well. It pains me to say that I think they would not have much of a crowd at Glastonbury, too. If Mogwai had a pretty small crowd for a Park headliner, GY!BE would be smaller, I would think.

Yeah patti smith would be incredible, it's a bit of a travesty imo that she wouldn't be considered pyramid or at least other headliner size but even better seeing her in a more intimate setting. If she did headline the park would she be likely to do horses in full or is a more career spanning set more likely? personally I consider Easter on a par with Horses so would probably prefer the latter. However, Horses in full would be pretty breathtaking (excuse the sensationalist language, I'm pretty excited at this prospect, might even get field day tickets even though its around a-level/revision time for me :/)

hehehe, I reckon we agree on quite a lot, probably.

She was incredible at EOTR the other year and even rescued an afternoon at Hop Farm. I don't use the word often, but live, she is inspirational, in that she makes me want to go and create something after seeing her commitment to her art.

Not sure if I've missed something, but why is Patti Smith being discussed for The Park? I realise she's not everyone's cup of tea, but surely she'd be at least an Other stage headliner? The only way she could play The Park without serious H&S problems is if it was a truly secret set.

I would disagree. If you look at recent tours and the venues she plays not on a level of Other Headliner. People are talking of Caribou headlining Park, he is headlining Field Day, Patti is not. Very influential - yes, but not necessarily the big crowd puller

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.
    • Here's a bit of a wild stab, few placings may be off, and for all I know half of these won't actually be touring next year, but screw it, it's a bit of fun   Pyramid: Sabrina Carpenter, Phoebe Bridgers, TBA (Florence + The Machine), Garbage, The Last Dinner Party, Interpol, Alex James Britpop Classical Other: Chase & Status, Teddy Swims, Clairo, The Kooks, Zara Larsson, Kingfishr, Sports Team, Orbital West Holts: Robyn, Baby Keem, De La Soul, Deltron 3030, JID, Dua Saleh, kwn, Daniela Latila Woodsies: Bonobo, Darkside, TBA (Tame Impala), Laufey, Warmduscher, Wednesday, The Lottery Winners, The Royston Club, Florence Road Park: Patti Smith, Super Furry Animals, Slayyyter, The Cardigans, Skye Newman, Kelly Lee Owens, Teen Jesus & The Jean Teasers   Pyramid: Harry Styles, The xx, Richard Ashcroft, The Pogues, Jessie J, Sigrid, Travis Other: Rosalia, Sombr, Mitski, Alex Warren, Holly Humberstone, Cat Burns, Pale Waves, Yard Act West Holts: Basement Jaxx, Elyanna, Clipse, L’Imperatrice, Nation of Language, Jim Legxacy, Yazmin Lacey, RIP Magic Woodsies: Suede, Chvrches, Bleachers, MUNA, The Cribs, Keo, Bleech 9:3, The Lilacs Park: MARINA, Magdalena Bay, Jacob Alon, TBA (Lily Allen performs West End Girl), Getdown Services, Isaac Wood, Snail Mail, Madra Salach Pyramid: Sam Fender, Hozier, David Byrne, Cher, Obongjayar, David Gray, Billy Ocean Other: Doja Cat, Deftones, Addison Rae, Ren, Viagra Boys, Maisie Peters, The Reytons, Hard Life West Holts: Kano, Thievery Corporation, Angine De Poitrine, Thee Sacred Souls, Brooke Combe, Sasha Keable, Master Peace Woodsies: The Wombats, Metronomy, Geese*, Dry Cleaning, EsDeeKid, Sienna Spiro, Cowboy Hunters, Radio Free Alice Park: Big Thief, Laura Marling, MJ Lenderman, Richard Dawson, Oklou, Maruja, Dead Dads Club, Ratboys   *There's always one band booked for Woodsies that ends up being massively under-billed and gets shut down really early. They'd be better off playing somewhere like Other sub, but I could see the G getting them to play a smaller stage while it's still possible
