oh my god, i had no idea Alvvays were supporting! thanks for the heads up. wasn't gonna go because none of my friends are interested / Liverpool Music Week has rinsed me dry but think i'm gonna have to go to this

Seeing this tour in leeds. Can not wait! The Alvvays reecord is one of my AOTY and I bought the tickets solely on them playing (had never heard Real Estate before).

Loving 'Atlas' now though. Would love to see both on the Park too, Real Estate would be bliss on a sunny Park stage afternoon.

Found the interview bit which Aphex Twin talks about a visual show for Syro to Oor Magazine.

APHEX TALKS ABOUT... SHOWS
Will there be a new visual campaign for Syro?
"We are working on a new campaign. I want to work again with my friend Weirdcore(http://www.weirdcore.tv/), who also handles the visuals at my shows.
We are going to do some mixes together. I'm going to craft some mixtapes at home, because I haven't done that in years. I think I am going to put something on the 'net with him.
I wanted to do that years ago. At concerts I can't really see all the things he does, it's all happening on the screens behind me. He can hear me, but I can't see how he anticipates on that.
We have put a screen on the podium some time, but they forgot to connect it... I still wasn't able to see it! Very frustrating. I really want to stand were he stands, between the people in the first rows.
I dont want to stand on the podium, but just in front. When you perform live, it's no problem. But when you deejay, what really is less difficult than performing live, it's practically impossible because of the delay in the speakers.
It just doesnt work. You need to have your turntables behind the speakers, with stage monitors. When the speakers are just as far as the chair over there[points at an empty chair about a metre away] then you already have 5 miliseconds delay.
I did try it once in front of the speakers, but it still wasnt enough. The only alternative if you want to stand between the people on the front row, is to play live instead of deejaying, so I think I might do that again."
How concrete are these plans?
"I did a few sneaky mini-performances whilst I was deejaying. I had a computer next to me. But that doesn't really count. It will require an immense amount of planning and thus time if I really want to do that, and the time I spent on that
I rather be in my studio, making music. The chance of me doing more instalation-like performances is probably bigger. "

What does he mean by 'installation like performances'? It'd be great if he did go ahead with these plans he spoke of though - not sure if it could be carried off at Glastonbury but it'd be great anywhere.

to me installation = art gallery or similar? something where people don't come to see him play music to an audience specifically, just to play and for people to turn up to it..... if that even makes sense?

i would imagine something as mental as this would allow him to introduce many different aspects to the "performance" and stimulate the senses in more ways than just stage lighting / visuals and audio.

fwiw I'd like to see at the park, not necessarily headlining but there somewhere.

Mazzy Star, Atari Teenage Riot, Pantha Du Prince, Real Estate, Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Factory Floor, Mutual Benefit and Pins.

I realise that my first two requests are the same ones I've made in threads like this for the last ten years without success, but a boy can dream.

Some great shouts.

Mazzy Star would pull a fairly hefty crowd, I'd enjoy that. I don't know if Park is the right stage of ATR, but if they did play there, or anywhere else in fesitval, I would love to be there. I've heard mixed things about Factory Floor live, but I have loved all the recorded output so I hope I get to see them at some point.
