The Park 2015

The Park is awesome if you're up for seeing a few acts in a row / spend some time there but as others have said, if you're just hoping to see one act in between other acts elsewhere then it can be a bit of a pain in the arse and i've missed a few great acts playing there / elsewhere because of it. definitely my favourite area though. made a lot more effort to spend time there this year and don't regret it

This is the only problem with The Park, it's lovely and has a great atmosphere but you've got to commit. I missed St Vincent and John Grant because the walk seemed like too much effort and I really, really regret it.

Great headliners will be

Belle and Sebastian (caught them in 2004 on the Other during a downpour - still enjoyed it).

Eels - caught them on the Other a few years ago and they were immense.

Ryan Adams - possibly a bit too big

Bands i'm hoping will be further down

Jenny Lewis - missed her gig in Glasgow recently as was working away - heard it was brilliant.

I am Kloot

The Low Anthem - wishful thinking - they've not done anything for a few years.

Natalie Merchant - addicted to her new albulm.

The Staves - some new material due.

They all looked like they were really enjoying it at The Roundhouse but I guess without new music there's not much longevity to them touring.

Yeah I'm sure there aren't any tensions, I just don't think it was intended to be a long term thing or if new material is intended. I might be wrong though.

I want neutral milk hotel to be there so much. If they are it would have to be a park headline wouldn't it? I'm not holding my breath though.

are they not maybe a bit too big for it? looking at previous Park headliners, NMH seem far bigger. never gonna happen either way - they'll probably disband not long after this tour wraps up. i can't see them doing a new album and also don't seem like the type of band that'd be happy to just keep playing the same sets for years and years

Saw The Cribs at Shrewsbury Fields Festival a few weeks ago and they said it was their last show for a year or so, so don't think they will be there. Be great if they were though

Carabou are a good shout though - saw them headline The Park a few years ago when I think U2 were on the pyramid. Not a big crowd there but definitely in my top 5 Glasto sets.

Great thing about the stage is seeing new acts you haven't seen before, and its easy to pop up to The Rabbit Hole and Crows Nest between sets to see what's happening in those tents

Is Flying Lotus too big to headline it?

these questions are always difficult because it depends on so much - who they're against, what the weathers like etc etc. from all accounts, mogwai was quite empty because the park is a trek and the ground wasn't excellent. (i was at jon hopkins and couldn't be bothered myself)

flylo has some ridiculous visuals though, so west holts would be an issue - so would probably have to be park or one of the dance stages with screens (sonic? idk)

Yeah, Eels played a great set on the Other in 2011. I was 70% they would play this year, as there was a convenient gap in their touring schedule on Glasto Sunday. They were playing London the day after.

I'm also thinking Jenny Lewis is a possibility. I'm enjoying the new album.

id love flying lotus to play. haven't seem him yet and been loving his music for years now. he'd fit best at either the park or glade id say.

i'd be happy to see flying lotus there and the other headliners not be too good so I can see a couple of biggies on the pyramid / other / west holts.

Flying Lotus at the Glade would be more than pleasant.
