He has a new album out on 18th May so will be showcasing that I fear rather than spanning his whole career.

It's what he does every time. Expect the set to be 2/3 new material with a couple of singles from the 90s your dad liked.

the thing about Paul weller (much like Morrissey), is that if he picked the correct setlist he would be a fantastic main stage booking...he has tremendous tunes from the jam, style council and his solo stuff to pick from...(I've seen him several times over the years, and he always played great gigs, haven't bothered the last 6/7 years to go see him, incidentally when he's now started playing the Jam stuff again, due to the ticket price and secondly his later albums weren't doing anything for me anymore.

if he were to play a career retrospective with maybe only a couple tracks from his last couple albums, I think he will be very good / well received act on the pyramid on the sunday (he will definitely be up for it im sure...another career comeback in the making this could prove to be)

Yea i agree! After last time, he should know what to play. would benfit him aswell playing a set that goes down well.

Cheers Neil, I do hope you're wrong! Can you shed any light on what you've heard or is that all tied in to the Sunday headliner debacle?

just that he wasn't doing Glastonbury.

If there was a plan to team up with weller or the who, I'd have expected to hear something a bit different.

While he was a little out on the timing, I guess we should give credit where it's due for Matt42's logic about getting the news out before the election. Front page news on the BBC and a lot of other news sites today, which isn't a bad feat considering it's the day before the election.

Not 100% on this but didn't Neil predict this likelihood first and Matt42 just went with it as his own theory?

I've read the poster as being:

Foos

Florence

Kanye

Pharrell

Pete Townsend's Child Sex Extravaganza

Paul Boring Weller

I know some have been saying Flo would sub Kanye but from the placings on the poster it seems Friday. Hope so as I wanna get to Acoustic Saturday night nice and early for the Moodies :D

The Who cancelled/rescheduled a gig in Paris, and Weller has cancelled a free festival in Holland

Wow. Didn't realise the Paul Weller cancelled gig was a free one. Doesn't reflect well on either Paul or Glasto organisers. Edited by kabillion

I know Neil said the same, yeah, but I'd read it from Matt42 first, I have no idea on timing. I was just trying to be charitable to the annoying little scrote :P

So shall we catalog things we obsessed over the last few months which turned out to be rubbish? Just to give us some sanity for next year's headline predictions. Add you own..

"He is British but his band isn't.."

"It's going to be two British bands - most likely" (Referring to the madness about a super group. I guess Michael wasn't 100% lying if you count The Who and then Paul Weller as two British bands)

"Chris Martin is involved with the upcoming announcement"

Cheers for those Michael

+ Comments from Emily about supporting new talent in headlining.

+ Whatever happened with Coldplay. Maybe the Chris Martin + Coldplay stuff is all linked to the juicy story Neil is sat on.

What have I missed? This 1800 pages is a blur.

    • Disclosure Day was fun.  It's very Spielberg but probably not an all time classic Spielberg. Nothing particularly original but it's well made, good performances (exceptional performance by Emily Blunt) and for a 2 hour plus blockbuster it flew by. Not everything worked, but I don't want to say why to avoid spoiling. Then again, it's not like there are too many shocks in this film.
    • Do these early birds tickets sell out fast, or is it ok to wait for the w-e ?
