Don't think he's ever played Glastonbury.

He's been playing live almost non stop since about 2007 now though and would be perfect for a headline slot on the Acoustic Stage or an afternoon slot on the Pyramid. Think back to Willie Nelson a few years ago.

As for Supertramp, he fell out with them when they reneged on a gentleman's agreement to not perform his songs at their live shows.

They still play his hits and they form about 30% of the set which is a shame really as Rick Davies has some great songs himself and Mark Hart who sings Roger's songs is a woeful singer.

Hodgson has started playing festivals too and does have a Glasto shaped hole in this summer's schedule.

I'm crossing my fingers in hope.

I think I mixed him up with the guy from Dr. Hook

Hi jimmyt long time no see!

You get a ticket this year then?

Also could this thread move a bit slower so I can keep up with it thanks

Are we down to Prince Bowie or Roses? Or Flo?

I did! Still haven't organised any time from work, though, so could be a Friday evening to Sunday night for me!

We're down to anyone available considered big enough by the Eavii which may or may not be a solo artist with a backing band that might or might not have been wanted for many years and could or could not be British but could also be any of the people you've mentioned (although not Bowie, but then again..!) and we will find out yesterday at 1pm or 9pm or later today or not until June or when Michael Eavis tells his neighbour's horse and that will be the full line up or the third headliner or a teaser and Neil either knows something or he doesn't.

Hope this has clarified things for you.

Why isn't the piece in any newspaper or news website today?

Well I can't find it. I expected it would be somewhere

Yeah I read it and thought "here we go" and that it'd be on all the music news sites that Moz has slammed Glastonbury, and pondered (for a very short while) about if it'll lead to an announcement to counteract the bad press.

Is anyone else worried that on the Glasto website the announcement has been moved from 'spring' to 'closer to the festival'?

there's no reason to worry. The festival will have same lineup on the day the gates open whether its announced today or in June.

The wording will have been changed to lessen the expectation of an imminent announcement, to lessen disappointment at its non-arrival.

Particularly as it is a very international festival these days. Presumably, spring has just finished somewhere.

Welcome!

I know they played early on Other a couple of years back and then later on Pyramid the year after (2013 / 2014?) so only seems right they can sub Other at this point! If nothing's clashing I'll go check 'em out!

Great username by the way, fantastic album!

Yeah i was there for their Other slot a couple of years ago and also saw them at the IOW. Subbing the other stage would slot in very nicely before the Foos come on the Pyramid. As you've guessed i am a massive VTM fan and hope the rumours of an appearence are true, Given that he has just released a duets album, could there be a chance that he will have some special guests? Mavis Staples, Gregory Porter, George Benson?

I know of a few people that's happened with lately, actually, and in every case they've been told by Michael that the announcement will be (or probably be) within the next 24 hours.

So either Michael is taking the piss out of them, or Michael doesn't appear to know what the score is (which wouldn't surprise me too much) - take your pick.

He did admit he was only really involved in the specifics of the headliner bookings (bar the odd exception). So he may well be expecting an imminent third headliner announcement but not be too wise on any proper line-up announcement timetable.

When he saw us he definitely didn't look like he was taking the piss anyway. He was trying to divulge as little as possible whilst simultaneously letting snippets come out... As you know!

I hope they are true! Big fan of him and Them so I would love to see him. How's his vocals these days?

So what's changed in dairy farming since he played in 2011 then?

Precisely. I assume he thinks it isn't possible for me to adore his music and Sky+ Man vs Food, but it happens. He's looking for a reaction and a fight. Maybe he was asked if he fancied Glastonbury this year, only to find out they wanted him fourth from the top of The Park, thus the strop.

Why the hell have you chosen the nickname of one of their greatest players as your user name, then? Are you as easily confused as you are annoyed?

Strange coincidence but it's the wife's pet name for me.. awwwwwwww - true story

On the FB chat thing the lad who had ME in his work yesterday said ME told him that full line up wouldn't be any time soon and out of respect for tge Eavii he wouldn't disclose what was discussed. The lad who said 9am has just used the picture and is just a wind up merchant.
