someone who might have got hold of the info, yep - either from the fest or more likely from other places.

As I say, I do know that someone there is under the impression that it's Prince.

Apart from Metallica last year, its unusual to not have all headliners announced by now isn't it? Cant think of anything like it in recent years.

I'd be curious to know what the Prince cut off point was, from an Eavis perspective. That's to say, at what point in the year would they decide to stop waiting for him to sign the dotted line before making a Flo bump up/having a different headliner. (If that is actually the case).

they play a track or two a day, normally.

I've heard more than that already today.

Doesn't mean lots of people are the in the know, if the heads of BBC glastonbury know, all they have to do is add Prince to the playlists and send them to the presenters. They may know they have to play more prince, but not necessarily know prince is at glastonbury

Didn't the foos and Kanye both self confirm?

No

Foos was simultaneously announced on video at the NME Awards as well as via Glasto's social media channels as part of what was clearly a planned moment, Kanye was announced on Radio 1 by Annie Mac :)

Then we're onto the completely unrealistic big guns.

Led Zep etc.

I love when things get 'handed down' in a sense. Once the stones were done prince became the #1 act everyone requested, and once metallica became a reality AC/DC become a possibility.

We will never run out of acts for people to suggest again and again.

A thought came to mind this morning... it's not inconceivable that the 'delay' (which isn't really a delay at all, but is later than last year and surrounded by minimal announcements from GF) is due to Kanye pulling out. He seems personally active on Twitter (rather than his management handling that for him) so he must have seen the vitriol directed his way first hand. Behind the scenes, maybe he's had second thoughts and has withdrawn from the bill.

I don't think that's happened, and I hope not (firstly because I'm looking forward to seeing him, and secondly because it would look terrible for the Festival), but it's possible, isn't it?

    • Maybe you need a groovy mayor who can get you the money.   Anyway, looks like mayors going to get a whole load of fiscal devolution and greater powers...so best everyone gets one, a decent one, and get a load of Madchesterism.

    • Another great weekend with family and friends.  We spend most of our time between Obelisk, and second stage due to having young children.  Overpass, Florence Road, Nathan Evans, David Byrne and Alex James were the highlights for me.  Quite enjoyed a dance to Gok Wan on the Saturday too.   Certainly feeling the Latitude blues this week and looking forward to next year.   Also looking forward to all the predictions for next year in the 2027 chat.   Hope everyone had a great festival.
    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
