I just cant see it. I think it will be a smaller act as kanye west and foo fighters are perceived as massive to most people.

florence and the machine makes perfect sense from every angle:

female? check

giving an up and coming band their shot at the bigtime? check

cheaper fee? check

perceived as "getting" glastonbury because she doesnt wear shoes? check

ex-public school? check

dreary shite that will appeal to cretins with appalling music taste? check

It's happening. We must accept it and look elsewhere for our headline pleasure.

My hopes are now pinned on iggy and SFA, given that bjork is a non-starter.

This man speaks sense :suicide:

:suicide: was for the appearance of said dreary shite not your apposite comments btw

Neil's a little butthurt at me but we all want him to spill a "Just one more thing..." Columbo-style in a couple weeks. Emili Sande??? If that ain't a wind up i'm finished here.

it wasn't a wind-up, it was a possibility.

You know, like the many bands you've mentioned over the years as potential headliners but probably won't headline.

Tournament starts on June 10th, that gives me 10 days in France and plenty of time to get back to Swansea in time for Glastonbury. Now let's just qualify and get tickets for next year's activities...

Though if we qualified for the last 16, I'd never forgive myself. I'm planning on staying out there the whole time and going to a couple of later stages when (or indeed if ;) ) we're knocked out.

Good points both..I feel like acquiring tickets for the games is going to be like T-day all over again. Still annoyed I couldn't get a Belgium ticket.

I imagine this is how a blind date feels.

We've agreed to going beforehand without knowing what lies ahead.

The Foo's/Kanye announcements are like 'selfies' we've been sent, but that's not good enough - we need more!

We now know it's close and have now arrived at the restaurant .. All could be revealed at any moment ...

We got the first selfie and thought "Not really my type but I can see why I've been paired up here", then we got the second selfie and thought "Oh heck! It's a right minger AND it looks like a horrible person" but we're going to our favourite restaurant so we're going to suck it up, go and hope there's someone much more attractive at another table?

Thankfully I have plenty of points on my membership, due to Scotland away, Belgium away and Cyprus away, but there's a lot who'll miss out in the smaller venues, especially with all the celebrities, AMs and PMs who'll get first dibs. Hopefully for you, we get drawn in France's group, where all the venues are large.

I normally get my tickets through my local football club to support them so don't have many points at all really, will just hope I can grab some tickets. May head out there anyway even if I don't.

Neil have you heard anything more about when we will hear anything or is it now probably after resale

stuff i've heard has said an announcement will be next week ... tho the same info said the 3rd headliner would already be announced by now, so whether it's true or not I don't know.

But I'm not expecting a big announcement this week, even if the 3rd headliner comes somewhen this week - tho that's not based on any solid info.

I'm impressed of how quiet it has been kept, so the waiting game goes on

    • Judging by last night at Wembley, Luke Combs should be in the conversation of headliner. The UK is having a moment with country music so I don't think it would be particularly left field either.

    • It feels really busy this year, loads of big groups of youngsters too. Slightly different vibe to previous years I've been. As with Tramlines, they're very chatty during sets and there's a constant stream of them in and out of the crowd... definitely feeling my age 😂   The Quarry stage I think is a lot smaller than previous years - seems similar size to Squid/Leadmill. Some sets have been difficult to get in.   I think I've reached my limit with mid-tier indie guitar bands. There's been quite a few this weekend where I've gone over to see them then walked away after 20 mins. Surprisingly, enjoyed the Fratellis set the most in this genre. Probably getting on for 20 years since I last saw them. Wasn't expecting them to do Yes Sir, I Can Boogie, which was fab!   Hugely enjoyed the Happy Mondays yesterday, and same but different with Radio Free Alice who I saw again on Friday, following Tramlines last weekend. A big run of pop acts today - Scissor Sisters will be fantastic!
