I don't think it's inconcievable they could go for lunch and be chatting about it.

Believe me having worked in the service industry for a while when i was young, people have some bizarre conversations in public.

It seems a bit cynical to say they're after publicity, in that neck of the woods I'd imagine good work of mouth is more important than twitter.

Maybe it was just a bit of craic?

That's hardly inconceivable

yeah, they were chatting about it so much that no one at the pub heard any of the names they mentioned. :lol:FFS people, c'mon! Wake up to yourselves, and to what people bullshit about.

U wouldn't hear fuck all people were talking about in my local. So suppose it depends on size of pub and distance from bar.

But on another note this is getting ridiculous, I'm speculating about the size of a pub I'm never gonna visit.

The "full" line up is only ever revealed in May, isn't it? I'm assuming when people talk about wanting the line up they mean a mini-poster like last year.

Yeah we're on about the initial poster that will confirm about 80/90 of the biggest names

I'd just like to point out they used the words "should be revealed tomorrow" so haven't actually taken responsibility for today really.

I think it "should be revealed tomorrow" but don't hold me to it.

Everyone is so cynical! Probably just popped in for lunch, staff maybe know them or clearly at least recognise them, may have said "hi mr eavis, great to see you, any clues on any acts" (well I would if I were working there!) to which he replies "no but all will be revealed tomorrow". He's said elsewhere that it will be today so would be nothing surprising about that. "Chatting about the acts" doesn't mean they were naming names, maybe they were just saying how excited they were about them this year. Maybe they were talking about Kanye west. I think it's all perfectly plausible. We'll see...

they knew he was talking about the line-up - for definite - but they don't know when it's being announced, and didn't ask?

C'mon, ffs.

Are you 100% sure we won't get the line up today? I'm sick of waiting :(

We can't be far off a 100 name poster though.

Imagine waiting until May for anything. I'd hate that.

2014 edition was announced April 4th - http://www.nme.com/news/various-artists/76511

Metallica confirmed as final headliner in May. So that would conform to people's expectations of an initial batch today/imminently, and then a full line-up in May.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
