Neil, you mentioned hundreds of pages ago about the possibility of a shared headliner between Glastonbury & IOW.

Was that ever ruled out, or could it be that one of Blur or FM are playing both festivals?

Perhaps they are both playing on Sunday in which case as co-headliners they are still exclusive festival headliners to IOW?

Just a thought.

Blur have ruled themselves out.

Fleetwood Mac are a worldwide exclusive so Glasto would have to jump through hoops to find a way round that. Or not announce them until very last minute.

I wouldn't be the first time Dave has lied tbf, seem to remember he was asked about activity in Japan with blur and flat out denied it... And look how that turned out.

Wasn't the album recorded in Hong Kong?

Dave Rowntree said that they were not headlining Glastonbury.

Interesting use of words. Not we aren't playing at Glastonbury which would be clear.

I'm just relating this to Neil's previous comments about a possible shared act and Gittings comment about not topping Glastonbury.

Blur are not a festival exclusive as far as I can see and there is nowhere else that could accommodate them that has a headline slot free. IOW make exclusive claims whenever they can.

As I said, it's just a thought

Well BST Hyde Park seems to count as a festival so that's why they're not exclusive.

from the Blur website

Blur are confirmed to headline the Isle of Wight Festival on Saturday June 13. Tickets are available now at www.isleofwightfestival.com/tickets
With BST Hyde Park on June 20 - ticket still available at www.bst-hydepark.com - this completes the band's UK festival appearances for 2015.

Blimey! ignore that then... I genuinely thought I'd read it was in Japan! I swear this isn't a slightly racist mix up :|

but either way, the point is he denied recording the album or indeed even doing anything with the band.

Edit: Well that's that then...

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
