Anyway..... Have we even discussed other stage headliners? I've not known a year like this in ages where we've basically just got 2 headliners across the stages and bugger all else.

Hoping Suede for JP, Belle and Sebastian, Sleater Kinney for Park. Guess there will be a dance act for Other. Did I see Deadmau5 as a rumour?

Hey Techbaggies4RosiesGuy, you have used homophobic slurs on this forum in the past. Please have a nice quiet chat with any friends you might have regarding your trolling issues and homophobia. You'll be glad you did. In the meantime, please do one. Cheers!

Ok then...

  • There is not a shred of credible evidence

Big Vern source has proved to be credible in the past and there's nothing to say it wouldn't be now. May only be a shred but that's all you ask for...

  • They are not active as a band

They kept their return a secret which was bigger news than this so there's nothing to suggest their people couldn't keep a Glastonbury appearance under wraps too...

  • There has been no 'leaks or strong rumours'

See point 1!

  • No band has ever headlined the Pyramid Stage 20 odd years after their last album and with no new material and only 2 albums in total.

Although your point is ridiculously specific the basis of the argument holds no water. In recent years Arctic Monkeys, Killers, Mumford all headlined after releasing 2 albums with new material on the way. The Verve headlined in 2008 playing songs off 2 albums that were 11-13 years old with just a couple of new songs thrown in.

For some reason I have Alt-J and Bjork for Other headliners. Probably Friday and Sunday respectively.

No idea who they'd put on against Kanye, though.

it's not going to be Bjork, her Manchester date the weekend after has been marked as her first European date with Vulnicura

Bjork's show in Manchester early July is being touted as the European premier of Vulnicura live. Looking forward to that!

Edit: beaten to it.

My Bloody Valentine vs Kanye? I'm spitballing here but that would be a decent duel

No it wouldn't , MBV vs Foos would be the dream, MBV vs Kanye is a horrible clash. I don't even think they're active though, they'd have played in 2013 if they were going to.

I am conveniently choosing to ignore this 'fact', until such time that the Icelandic Pixie is formally not announced for GF2015. Until then, she's nailed on.

I've been harsh on Squire. You can't have a go at the chap for Second Coming. He did what most of us do, quit listening to the Byrds and start listening to the Zep.

To reset the balance somewhat... check out Brownie's vocals on the first chorus here...

Has the been a worse performance of a more cherished melody?

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
