I suppose it’s been long enough since Radiohead headlined that they could do it without a new album, but I reckon them in 2016 is more likely.

But they were matching beige pants, vest (tucked tightly into said pants) and socks boring last time they headlined the Pyramid. I had to leave after a few songs to go back to the tent for an early night after that. Having said that the acoustic performance of Karma Police up in The Park in '10 was a full on special Glasto moment.

Thommy and Johnny (I did enjoy his loopy guitarring on West Holts this year) should give the elbow (the not very good one with Lippy Kids on it) to the others in the band as they're obviously the dull ones that bring the mood down and just do the big sing-a-long ones themselves. In the Sunday legends slot if Billy or Barry can't make it. Now that would be good. They could wear their denim shorts again too to show us that they're here to have some fun.

Brian Johnson has just let slip they're playing Hampden Park and Wembley next year on the local news when being interviewed.

Is this an exclusive? If so it's got to be the first music exclusive local newswomen Pam Royal has ever broke!!

Oooh I play in a shit band called Radiohead and i'm really edgy, let's keep a pointless 'H' in my shortened name just so people know how edgy I am. Fuck you TOM Yorke.

Anyone but Radiohead, that goes for 2016 and all following years as well.

I know right? I heard this one time he put v.3.0 in his name. Talk about pretentious eh???!1! LOL!!! #epic bantz

Looks more like sub-headliners, or Other stage headliners to me.

To you. Bookers of other festivals see them headlining main stage.

I picked my 3 other stage headliners

Royal Blood

Weezer

Moby

All are stronger than those IMO

None of those are/will be strong enough to headline Other.

The weakest I would have ever seen at Glastonbury.

Also how does the Pink Floyd album put them in the frame? My head says, obviously, it will not happen but my heart says it is almost nailed on!

Id say Moby could if Massive Attack still can.

Royal blood waa a curveball. The album might bomb... Im suspecting it will be very big.

Anyway - headliners

Prediction:

Fleetwood Mac

Rihanna (I know... Its a prediction, not what I want)

Radiohead

Hoping for:

ACDC

Radiohead

Bowie

(I know my hoping for wont happen)

Yeah, I think Moby could. Wasn't that long ago he headlined the Pyramid, was it?

My guess would be Foo Fighters/Fleetwood Mac/Foals. All the F's. And fine for me because I'd miss all of them.

I had never heard of the foals til this thread. Ive had to find them on youtube... Meh

I don't get the Royal blood hype, their songs are alright but nothing special. QOTSA have been doing the same thing, only better for years.

Yeah, watched some of their set today and I can see why people like it. Just not really my bag. People are getting a bit ahead of themselves with headlining other next year though! see how the album does first. Although I do think that these BBC sound of whichever year things are a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy - bands get put on the list and then hyped beyond belief by the BBC djs so that the prediction comes true. Just look how much bumlicking George Ezra gets from the BBC djs...

2003 I believe.

AC/DC would be great, a band I'd love to see at a festival but wouldn't pay to see on their own turf..abit like Metallica. I'd guess with them it might depend on if they are willing to cut down the show/theatrics a bit to fit on the Pyramid?

Looks more like sub-headliners, or Other stage headliners to me.

Biffy are major festival headliners in the UK now, 100% and unless their next album bombs, they will either not headline and do other festivals or headline Glastonbury in that year.

Florence is on the edge and depends on well the album does but is in the frame to step up.

Foals, are a big album away so yeah probs Sub/Other stage headliners.

 Ridiculous statement and only Moby would headline Other. There is practically 0 chance of Royal Bloody/Weezer headlining the Other if all goes to plan.

Ignorance is bliss I guess. Didn't look much at the 2013 lineup then?

Are The Strokes potential headliners? Topped the bill at a couple of festivals this summer and did reading not too long ago. If we are mentioning the likes of Biffy Clyro and Foals then surely The Strokes have to be in with a chance. I still think Is This It is one of the best records this side of the millenium.

I wouldn't be too surprised if we saw Vampire Weekend somewhere on the bill either.

    • TVOD are playing Blue Basement in London 2/9 with a complete EOTR/Psych Fest shaped hole before their next gig in Lyon on 8/9. Well received in the Big Top last year, reckon they're nailed on for a secret set in the Tipi.
    • Didn't they widen the entrance last year to enable them to increase the number of pitches or have I imagined this? Perhaps they might return under a different form of glamping?
    • It should forever be the Tipi.   Just as the news about Geese was shared on Twitter.
    • It really surprised me that Rock AM Ring made Download feel like an extremely well organised festival with good communication in comparison. If we were to ever try either of them again we would go for IM Park and stop in Nuremberg.     Agree that the long thin mainstage isn't great, but where the mainstage is makes it really hard to navigate when it is busy because of that choke point created by the food vendors, bar/lounges with a view of main and where the crowd is coming form second stage. The concrete is hard on the joints. The front standing is a pisstake and the communication from the fest about what is happening on site other than which campsites are filling up leaves a lot to be desired. Car parks being a free for all doesn't help either.   I think it really suffers being so far from anything other than small towns/villages that lack proper public transport and Koblenz being the closest town which you can can use to get public transport to the fest being 60km away.
    • Yeah its absolutely on me that isn't think Shinia Twain was an awful choice- i get that.  Im still of the paul simon, ELO kind of thoughts but I realise things change. Im still intrigued what constitutes legend though. Robert plant played and he wasn't a legend slot- to me that would have fitted. Is it a ' comedy ' ' good time ' slot now? Comedy isn't the right word - guilty pleasure or something like that?
