I absolutely guarantee that if Di Maria signed for anyone else, this discussion wouldn't be happening.

Doesn't surprise me that only one person can't remember how crucial Di Maria was to Real last season.

PMSL - it's nothing to do with "can't remember". It's to do with doesn't much care. I take little interest in Euro footie. It's not compulsory. :)

Whatever he might have been for Real he's been pretty anonymous for Utd, as have all the expensive newbies.

Many players have gone to a new side and not done well initially before going on to set things alight. Neymar at Barcelona this season is a good example of that.

Doesn't help when you have a manager trying to shoe horn all of the big "marquee" signings into a side with limited success, which is the only kind of success you can get with that.

Whatever the reason, one half season which has also been halted by an injury is not a way to make any decision on anyone.

I've not said my opinion is fixed forever, i've said why I've formed the opinion I have. :)

Personally I'm still with the same opinion with Utd that i've had for over a year, that they'll (comparatively) struggle until the have a midfield that's worth talking about - and that means not a midfield that even the weakest teams can easily dance thru.

Talk about Gerrard coming back to Liverpool for a loan spell. To me that would be a mistake, it must be a clean break.

I'd let him have his big goodbye.

Similar scenario would have been something like Lampard going back to Chelsea during this window. Let the lad have his goodbye, he'll be 36? no way can he play for 12 months without a break.

Going to Rangers vs. Hearts tonight. The conditions will be ideal for football watching...

...right, with the sarcasm out of the way, I'll say that if I thought Rangers were capable of playing a smart game, that I'd reckon they had a chance to take something from this. But they're not. So they'll fly at Hearts all guns blazing, who are capable of dealing with them, and also capable of hurting Rangers BADLY on the counter. It's basically going to be the same sort of game as the Tynecastle one.

If Rangers decide to sit in initially, Hearts will be caught off guard and THEN Rangers should start piling at them when the heads are off.

16 million for a one year loan, plus the wages.

Is it? Or is that just a figure you thought up? Will be interested where you got 16m plus wages from though.

6m loan fee plus wages I've heard, no idea if accurate though. With the media giving different amounts, I doubt anyone in the media knows.

What we can be sure of it's a lot per goal.
