Glasto dates will start to show on the long range weather charts this week. J10 will start posting more regular due to this I would assume, we're getting closer! WoW will make an appearance soon as well I'm guessing :)

I'm never sure if it coming into range actually helps - i get all excited about it and it's tantalisingly close by then but the long range varies so much every run that it becomes a right rollercoaster ride

Hard to remember to look at the average results over many runs and not obsess about any one

Not sounding good is it

It says the projections are either really good or really bad and the keep changing. Sounds more like a polite way of saying "fuck knows!" than necessarily being bad at this point. (clutches at straws)

Gave my tent a clean today as the BBC website said that it wouldn't rain until around 10pm tonight. It's been raining on and off for the past hour, including 1 thunderstorm. BBC still has the same forecast as this morning

Yep, put my tent up this afternoon and, within ten minutes of banging in the final peg, bright blue skies had been usurped by a short, intense thunderstorm and fierce downpour.

I'm NOT taking that as an omen!

This is from the met office http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/weather/uk/uk_forecast_weather.html

UK Outlook for Monday 23 Jun 2014 to Monday 7 Jul 2014:

There remain no strong signals regarding conditions during the latter part of June and early July. This suggests that the most likely scenario is something close to what is climatologically usual for this time of year. Consequently spells of fine weather are expected, but occasional bouts of unsettled weather with rain or showers are also likely at times, these perhaps more likely over northern and western parts of the UK.

Edit: So in other words the weather at the end of June will be the kind of weather you expect at the end of June.

Aren't they saying, they can't see that far ahead because there are no "strong signals" what the pressure will do so they have to say it'll be average June weather?

I think that's pretty much exactly what they are saying.

But at least theres no nasty low pressure areas or rain fronts forecast to this has got to be good news!

Country file weather just been on (thanks to Grand Prix on early) summary...... Warm with plenty of sunshine esp in south and west.....for this week anyway

I've just had a panic attack.... Just realised I've missed countryfile off to Isle of Wight festival at the weekend and panicking.....

So should be sunny on the island then?

    • An interesting thing this. Having seem them several times (some of their gigs veer into back catalogue niche territoty), I partly agree they arent Pyramid material (theough modern defeinition of 'bangers' although I could see them headlinging the Other stage) I can't think of another festival in the world that they couldn't headline - Reading, IoW, BST, Rock Wercheter, Roskilde, etc etc.
    • Ohhh it’s very, very good.
    • I'm sure you like silly music too but is it because it's not a Download traditional type act it gets looked down on? Rock am Ring booked them, and they sell every year so don't actually need to   Andy going and being replaced is the best thing that could have happened to Download, someone fresh to mix it up a bit rather than just a complete rotation. The only reason Andy booked ST in ti headline too was because he loves them and he was going on to manage them. Nah, Andy booked FOB in a year where over 20 acts were asked, I'll guarantee if they get Blink and having had Green Day they did not need 20 bands to come to those. FOB are also not one that have been booked in Europe to headline by anyone other than Reading as co-headliner as far as I can see. They weren't a ooh god yes they've booked FOB.
    • Would love to see them headline as well, but agree with Mr Bailey ☹️
    • I think it's just a slight shift in target audience of the festival, Andy also booked FOB    A lot of young people (me included) are nostalgic for the 2000's pop punk and nu metal rather than the 80's legacy bands    It's just the festival moving with the times I think Andy would of done the same    Although they are still booking some legacy acts like GNR but that doesn't seem to have gone well ticket sales wise
