Absolutely incredible glastonbury booking.

Even with the huge problems they clearly had they've still got the best trio of headliners i've

seen at any fest this year.

I don't see the comparison. Metallica have never played Glasto, or any of the mainstream UK fests apart from Reading & Leeds (and they haven't been there since '08). Kasabian, on the other hand, have played pretty much all of them, repeatedly.

if Neil is right and they're headlining Pyramid, i wonder what's changed / happened, as last we heard Soni's people were fairly confident that it was their only UK appearance (unless they were saying that to keep up appearances / stop word spreading that Metallica would be at Glasto)

The very fact that they weren't absolutely certain about it would imply they never actually had Metallica as a contractual exclusive.

Either the contract says exclusive or it doesn't. There's no grey area here.

I've always wanted to see metallica, however the whole download setting never appealed to me.

As for booking troubles; prince, depeche mode, fleetwood mac all reportedly turned it down.

whoever subs Metallica, i imagine there will be a massive crowd switch between them finishing and Metallica starting. just can't think of any Glastonbury-esque band big enough to sub / suitable to sub Metallica

I'm hoping this is true. Going to be applying to volunteer as I am still ticketless, but hoping if Metallica get announced as Pyramid headliners that might make things easier to snap up a ticket in the resale. Hopefully people will dump/return their tickets!

I for one would welcome Met to Glasto with open arms. I LOVE Glasto, but my main area of music I like is loosely metal/rock/prog or any combination of those..... QOTSA was a total curveball a few years ago, I deliberately avoided the Billy Corgan experience last year to see NCATBS and Bobby Womack as I see not how TSP's are TSP's anymore with only 1 original member left...... So yeah to stop going on GET IN!
