and you'd be wrong.

If it's true they're playing the pyramid, then until Prince decided not to play they were defo going to be on the other.

never thought i'd be glad about Prince not being at the festival, but i really am, as that would've been a horrible horrible clash

here's hoping it's Skrillex / somebody i'm massively not interested in on the Other against them

If Glasto are going to have a niche band on the main stage the least they can do is get a significant Other headliner, surely. As for who that could be though..

No.

i reckon Skrillex (the dance headliner) will probably go up against Arcade Fire, so they will probably have a more 'Glastonbury-esque' band on Other vs Metallica, example: The National (who i personally don't think are big enough, but who knows)

better not be The Pixies / somebody like that or i'll have a meltdown (although Metallica still win every time)

I think it will be a poppy dance act.

I will definitely go and see metallica. I think this is going to be harder to watch all the way through even than Jay Z though. The lead singers shouty screamy voice is horrific.

Few more switched-on and charismatic frontmen out there IMO.

Neil thought Paolo Nutini was a contender when we were looking at the route of who could have been originally booked to sub Prince then bumped up, and who is also a bit of a different direction from the rockier Kasabian/Arcade Fire...if he was ever a contender for Pyramid headliner (though I somehow doubt that) surely he's got to be in the frame for the Other, surely.

Disclosure are confirmed to be playing, and given Emily Eavis couldn't hold it in maybe that's a sign they've got a big slot...?

EDIT: Sorry TheJackson, posted at the same time.

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
