i know. i was actually relieved when it seemed to be over and done with, and now as soon as it looked like we had his replacement, we're right back to square one again

I don't believe they are, but there's the suggestion that the offer has been left hanging.

I know Prince phoned up a festival that had been after him 3 days before it started to say he'd headline if they still wanted him (they didn't), so perhaps Glasto are hoping for something similar - tho things are likely to get difficult with moving acts around at a late stage and demoting an act from being headliner, so I'm not sure I could see Glasto waiting for too long.

The only thing which seems to make it plausible would be if Metallica are playing but aren't able to be announced, and if they wouldn't be bothered about what stage they played so that Prince could be accommodated.

They refused to do that for Pink Floyd. Admittedly that was much later on, but would they really do it this time?

the point being (i think), if it DOESN'T come through and Prince DOESN'T play, it's a lot of pissing about and delaying of the lineup for nothing

i seem to recall there was drama involving late pulling of a gig in ireland a few years back. i have no idea if it was the fault of his then-management or what.

yep, it could be that, but it might not. Given the amount of proven-bad Prince info that's gone around in places that should know better, it's very difficult to sort the wheat from the chaff.

Having said that, it's something I did succeed in doing a few weeks back, tho there was so much stuff flying around back then that it aided the process in zooming in at the good stuff.

Right now it's a bit different, cos just about everything has gone quiet. This latest is interesting, but there's all sorts of reasons why no one should hang their hat on it.

Yup. I had tickets for that. It was predicted by many that it wouldn't happen. (a 60,000 one off gig in Europe with no other dates anywhere close to it). I believe they blamed the promoters and said they'd never signed up for it, but when they were sued I think they settled (or lost)... definitely not the most reliable, but damn I hope he plays :-)

I very much doubt it.

But my memory of those words of hers is that there was a bit of hesitancy, like she was trying to find the right words - which might be because she need to use a particular set of words.

I'd like to hear those words again if anyone knows where they might be found...?
