Louise Mensch on twitter said Metallica aren't playing.

She's married to their manager.

She could have just ignored my tweet, but didn't.

She might be doing the usual PR that goes along with these things. Deny all knowledge!

Dont believe anything that torie bitch says!

That's interesting.

Tho she's someone who's always had great difficulty saying anything truthful, so on that basis they're confirmed. :P

In all seriousness I'm not sure that she'd know, because plenty of people with far more involvement in what Metallica are up to than her don't know the score.

Perhaps you should ask her why the band have insisted that nothing is booked into that weekend, to see what she says. :P

I quite like the description of her as a "Torie bitch", whatever that is!

:D

Where has that been said? That's promising.

do you think I'm thinking they're possibly playing on the basis of nothing? :)

There's very solid reasons why I think they're probably playing. Unfortunately things don't go as far as certainty, but I do think it's likely.

As things stand today, it looks like what stage they'll be on isn't 100% fixed, but that pyramid is the most likely.

I get the distinct feeling we're still in "Glastonbury don't know who's headlining themselves" territory

that might well be the case, tho it also seems to be the case that the 'suggestion' they're making to to those they need to make at least a suggestion towards is t5hat it's likely to be Metallica.

Are you expecting The Eagles to travel from Germany after a gig on Saturday to sub for Kasabian on the Sunday to then do Monday night in Switzerland ?

I know they love the money but I can't see that happening!

wouldn't take long.

Life in the fast lane innit?

    • I'm surprised they risked it, especially after nearly missing their Glasto 22 slot under similar circumstances  I did see someome say Ellie didnt sound as strong as recently but I'm guessing playing 3 shows in 2 different continents doesnt help that    On the topic though I can definitely see them doing a Fontaines and having a break over winter before a few final Clearing shows next summer
    • That's fair on WA - I did recall people thinking Fontaines would take this year off before this was announced.    On the subject of Wolf Alice, they did Lollapalooza in Chicago on Saturday then Kendal Calling last night. Bit of an odd choice, no? Half imagine at Kendal that they would've been just exhausted.
    • Just logged onto the app to start planning my days and there really are a LOT of stages missing. Apart from the Seaside Stage there is no Casemates this year etc. Apart from the Seaside Stage, there are no Casemates this year, etc. Can't see anything about the kids field really. And there's local acts that are normally there like Kojak's Revenge that aren't appearing either.  Normally we get down fairly early but I can't see anything before 3pm I'm keen to see. Only one real clash as well, which is good, but it's thin and it's not thin in the sense of "I've seen a lot of these acts before"
