With what looks like an official graphic...

IT'S COMING

ITS HAPPENING

That logo is hideous! What happened to the nice grey one with the Pyramid and the tree??

You mean the creepy tree of darkness?!

Looks a little like the old TV test screens :P

Who had between ten to and five in the mardy whinges about looking back sweepstake?

hahaha. btw, loved your thing yesterday about my anti-nostalgia thing. Meant to mention it earlier.

You know the truth, every year, me and my mates usually go to see a band we loved in our younger years at Glastonbury. But the sad fact is, they're still wasters, dreamers, fuck-ups and chancers. Always only a smaller stage, usually mid afternoon.

Some recent ones have been:

Band of Holy Joy (about 2pm somewhere in Shangri-La, attendance: 9 people)

Rockingbirds (12.30 the park, attendance: a dozen balding fat men, sobbing for their youth)

Martin Stephensn & The dainties (Acoustic, whole thing was awful and best forgotten)

The woodentops (Avalon, early evening, quite a few people there)

I'm as nostalgic as anyone else, but not for the fucking Charlatans or Pavement. I love bands who still do what they do, despite their obvious lack of success. Yer mortgage payment reformations can go and do one, though. ;)

Just like Caribou's agent's post disappearing swiftly. I wonder if someone at Worthy Farm is tasked with monitoring this thread and having self-confirmations deleted??

Maybe we should start sharing confirmations in chat!

There are a load of self confirmations that have disappeared this year after they have been posted

Oh I like that one!!!

How many logos they plan on having this year. National express are going with this one

Think they want to "modernise" it, but not sure which way to go and know the traditionalists don't see a need for change :P

Pretty much yeah. Beautiful One's, Animal Nitrate and Trash seemed decent enough.

For me, Dog Man Star might be the best album ever made. The first three are the most accessible and have most of the hits, so to speak. I also really like most of Head Music.

Suede - jangly (excellent) britpop

Dog Man Star - soaring bowie-esque soundscapes

Coming Up - slick, commercial (still excellent) new wave type indie.

    • TOP 10 acts (top 5 in bold😞   Blood Orange (ciutat)   Guitarricadelafuente   Oklou - Looks like I'm capable of enjoying music in the rain after all, just not the whole night.   Rilo Kiley   The Cure   Jade   Depresión Sonora   Gelli Haha (Parc del Forum) - Her music never really clicked with me. Until I saw her live.   MARINA   Six Sex (ciutat) - I was shocked how supersmall the venue was and that almost everyone (except for me) knew every word of every song (including the ones that were released this weekend!).   Honorable mention:   Ashnikko - missed the first 15 minutes (because of Gelli Haha) and I'm not really a fan of her music, but the show was an absolute blast.
    • Totally agree about PinkPantheress stage choice. 'Luckily' for me, one of my main targets, fakemink, was absolutely awful, meaning that I left early and was in a surprisingly good spot at Cupra before it got totally packed.
    • As many said before, not my favourite Primavera. sh*tty weather is something I'm not really used to when enjoying music. Poor communication (more than 1 hour long radio silence during the worst rain) didn't help, but the main problem was me. I decided to leave the venue after things seemed to be getting back to normal. Massive Attack were supposed to play again (with Hymn of the Big Wheel back on the setlist!) as were all other artists on the smaller stages (including Fcukers with one my favourite albums of the year). FOMO was at an all-time high. However, after 4 hours in the rain, I had to admit to myself that I'm not cut out for this. I wasn't even that soaked (water-proof jacket worked). I was just fed up with the rain, wind and cold and wasn't able to enjoy music anymore.   Also, they should stop ignoring the growth of some artists between signing them up and their actual performance. Both PinkPantheress and Ninajirachi sets were ruined for me by completely inadequate stage choice.   However, I felt very much the same way after the 2022 edition and have thoroughly enjoyed all subsequent editions. So I'm still buying early bird tickets for 2027 and hoping this was a hiccup not the start of a downward trend.
    • I will definitely be buying a 2027 early bird pass, partially because of the priority reservation privileges for the Ciutat sets. Hopefully the organization will take action to improve upon this year's failings. Because I thought the free water options and sound quality were an improvement over last year, so clearly they can actually implement positive changes.   I also hope all the douchebag chompers get in the sea, cause I was more bothered by them than in the past few years.   Highlights: The Cure, Ninajirachi, Knocked Loose, Current 93, Blood Orange.
