Not sure if it's been mentioned, but Professor Elemental will be back on the Sensation Seekers Stage in the Circus/Cabaret fields. Somehow managed to miss all of his sets last year. Will definitely be making that right this year.

Kate Tempest is doing the Saturday.

http://primarytalent.com/kate-tempest/

I've been sitting on that one because I thought waiting might mean more Primary Talent leaks than just that but Festileaks posted about her doing Pukkelpop because of it so what the hell. :P

You sit on self-confirmations?! I am in awe of your internet powers, wise, wise Sir Dentalplan.

:P Nah, I'm not holding any more back or anything. I just spotted it the other day and thought I'd wait it out to see if any more of their artists had a Glastonbury slot added rather than having it chalked up and Primary Talent probably then realising, when I think you could've bet your mortgage on her playing anyway.

Anyway, she'll be John Peel or Park won't she? Not that big into her myself but what she's doing is quite cool.

Amazing news! Even if you're not into her I still highly recommend seeing her if you can. One of the most intense live performers I've ever seen, really puts 100000% into ever show she does.

Somebody mentioned catfish and the bottlemen earlier in the thread...you didn't mishear! My mother also heard that announcement on XFM...Thursday or Friday.

Where would they play though? Williams green, other, John peel? They're slyly huge, sold out two nights at brixton academy

In the nearest bin if we're lucky

Delighted Kate Tempest will be there. Although we're lacking in the big names being leaked, the smaller names likely to be on The Park, JP and perhaps lower Pyramid/Other are already looking great and it looks like there is going to be plenty to keep my happy.

Knew I wasn't imagining it! I reckon 3rd from top other or 2nd from top jp.

    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
    • Sounds good tbh.
    • Bristol was the only city in 2012 that voted for a mayor. We had a local independent who was popular, then Marvin Rees won and was so corrupt that Bristol voted to get rid of the position - having just had the WECA mayor position put in place as well.
    • They built a watering system and have been watering the island for the past few weeks to reduce dust, but given the current drought, there will still be dust. They will cover twice as much ground around the main stage with those plastic panels as they did before. They couldn't book Gogol Bordello because the singer was afraid the government would allow Russian security services to capture him if he entered the country. They didn't have much room to be selective about artists. They booked whoever they could get. This year's Sziget will be only about 50% of his original vision. He wanted a dedicated rock stage. They are preparing for a loss of 1.5 billion HUF this year. For some reason, student tickets are not selling in the numbers they had expected. He said that when he talks about the lineup being less important, he doesn't mean Sziget should have a weaker lineup than Primavera. Rather, it should have a similarly strong lineup combined with much more non-musical programming, so people from abroad come here to see the same artists but have a completely different overall experience. He didn't miss Sziget and originally wanted to spend no more than two days a week dealing with it, but now he's working on it full-time and has handed over control of the rest of his businesses.
    • Well the point seems to be 22.7% turn out doesn't suggest the majority are rushing out to support the mayoral system.
