I like the national but i agree they are not really a big crowd headline act at major uk festivals. I was at reading and, despite them giving a good performance, the atmosphere was poor around me. I saw them at primevera and latitude as well and there they worked much better.

At glasto they'd be a VERY strong park headliner (and i think the phoenix comparison is valid) but if that slot isn't big enough for them anymore then i'd say other sub... which is the part of the festival which is most like reading. I'd pass personally.

Just as an outside bet on the Other but more realistically the JP , i reckon now that Franz Ferdinand are rumoured ,is it beyond all possiblility that they could sneak in there with a slot as headline on either of these two stages? After all if Bloc Party or Pheonix can do it then surely it is a possibility.
