I was lucky to see him a few times including Glastonbury and taking in his lifestyle he lasted longer than I expected

I bought the Transformer LP when it came out in 1972 after hearing it at a friends place - a album well above its time.

Goodbye to a true legend. I was so lucky to see The Velvet Underground at Glasto in '93 and I saw Lou at least twice else plus also his guest spot with the Gorillaz on the pyramid. Very very sad.

I confess to not knowing much of his work apart from the obvious stuff but it's very sad when someone who has contributed so much to the culture we love, passes away.

The only positive aspect of someone passing away is the stories that people will share about when they saw him play etc.
