Lineup 2015

Recommended Posts

Their album got to no. 10, just for what it's worth.

Did it actually? I thought it got to number 1 too, looks like all that hype didn't do them much good after all.

whaaaaaaat, going mad

ignore all that then, probably next year's FR headliners yep (Y)

I know and I was saying that it will have happened before in the form of Razorlight or Franz Ferdinand. Don't reckon they'll ever get to the point where they couldn't get anything like a headliner because they promote act up the lineup so quickly anyway. At the end of the day festivals make the headliners, not the bands.

I'm not saying it hasn't happened, but there are years where there's not a clear example of that. But on a side note the 2 headliners you just named were awful headline decisions and the fact they didn't headline any other major uk fest after them is an example of that.

Yeah, two awful headliner decisions but the festival still sold out so they can afford to get new headliners in every year.

New song being released in December, seems to be the lead from the new album which I expect is dropping around feb time.

Fair enough. If they get an album out I could see them returning but not without.

That's true. However, in my opinion it was almost trend to go to festivals in the mid to late 00's whatever the lineup and the fact they used to sell out instantly and now take quite a while too might back me up on this. Also they used to have great alternatives on other stages - I remember the established ash were playing when razorlight were on whereas these days it seems pretty damn random and new acts headlining the smaller stages

It's still trendy to go to festivals whatever the lineup. It's just there are a lot of factors that mean tickets sell slower now than 10 years ago. So I doubt that's got much to do with it.

    • Lovely Brexit doc on bbc2 for anyone who wants to relive those golden years.
    • I think some folks are underestimating how many millennials, now into heavier music, were genuinely also into things like techno and happy hardcore in the 90s and early 00s. Scooter may be about is commercialized as it gets when it comes to happy hardcore and techno, but for many, they won't be just a 'silly act' they will be a genuine nostalgia act.
    • Can anyone share please as can’t access the app
    • Someone said something along the lines of "the lows were really low but they highs were really high" and I think that sentence sums up my ps experience this year. Thursday was a downer (even though I got to see men I trust, geese, oklou and fcukers), but the weather, the missed shows and the uncertainty (those comms...) made it a bad day. Friday and Saturday on the other hand where rly good, a bunch of amazing shows each day (The Cure one was quite something), that surprise on Saturday...   Will be back next year, hope they get another impressive lineup as this year (quality and quantity wise) and that tickets and  primarily hotels don't get much more expensive.
    • Rosalia Radiohead NIN MGMT Bjork David Byrne   Also Vince Staples' new album is cool. I could see him returning.
