Lineup 2015

So after reading the article about the headliner that is booked I have been trying to think who it would be

So its not someone we would expect and not a regular - so perhaps good to look at genre

I can't see it being a metal band or pop punk as that is quite 'Reading' so therefore I think it may be either a rapper, Dj or big popstar or big mainstream band

Calvin Harris?

U2?

Jay-Z/Kanye?

Pharell?

Coldplay?(on gigwise they were the first band to come up as possible headliners)

Ed Sheeran (he would be the favourite)

Rihanna?

Beyonce?

No

No

Maybe

No

No

No

No

and....No

But apart from that it seems bang on

Also you were aware that all the acts they were thinking of were guitar bands still and that that regular means they don't play very often, not genre at all.

Aren't you the guy who was claiming that Coldplay were headlining this year?

Baby Godzilla were awesome tonight supporting Feed The Rhino! Not had that much fun in a while so if FR could book them (and Feed The Rhino while they are at it) for next year that'd be great, don't care where they're playing but just get them there

You know they played this year right? FR have already 'got them there'.

The new Shikari is alright, really liked the start but it doesn't do anything different (reminds me of Common Dreads material)

It has grown on me last few days but they missed a trick not concluding the song with a 15 second heavy bit like the start.

Sad but probably for the best. Seems they were very much a band of their time and their attempt to adapt was crap. So that's The Rapture, Crystal Castles and now Klaxons - bad year for dance punk fans.

i really liked love frequency...... :ninja:

such a shame. wish i could see them again but they did say last headline tour, which suggests they might be up for a support slot/festivals

The Rapture broke up!??!?

also their 2nd album was rly good but they deviated so heavily from it on LF it ugh

Yeah I meant Love Frequency. I preferred Suring the Void to Myths tbh.

I don't think that's the case seeing as those slots are usually promo for their own shows for most bands.

Terrible, kinda hoping that there are some decent acts that haven't announced tours/new album plans yet that could play.

I think dental argued this before, but it looks like August festivals may be dying out - bands wanna tour at June-July (start of the summer).

INRATS.

Summary please. Who's favourite to headline and who's the forum idiot at the moment? Wouldn't mind a return to Leeds next year.

kthxbai

Dunno who I'd class as favourites, but lots think Linkin Park may do it due to fitting Melvin's clues and supposedly playing a European festival in August.

Matt42 is forum idiot.

    • 13th Primavera (Thursday was definitely making me feel like this was the cursed year).  Blood Orange was such a party by the end of their set but we all knew that rain storm was approaching.  So gutted Massive Attack didn't play after the false hope of a new rescheduling, especially knowing that Elizabeth Fraser & Horace Andy were backstage with them!  Managed a bit of Melt Banana but was just so over the weather by that point.   Friday was awesome, Rilo Kiley were so much fun.  Never big the biggest Cure fan but made the effort for them & Robert Smith sounds like he did back in the 80s.  PinkPantheress & Viagra Boys were also great.   The highlight for me was Sudan Archives on the Saturday, she was stunning & with the Olivia Rodrigo surprise set too it made up for the Thursday sh*t show.  Dijon & Knocked Loose also superb.   Shoutout to Cardiacs on the Tuesday too, they were so LOUD, played a storming set.
    • OK, never mind, I'll take normal Nine Inch Nails.
    • Probably my least favourite of the five editions I've been to, but still plenty good enough for me to go again. Weirdly, I was just totally running out of stamina a lot earlier into the night than I remember happening in the past. I feel like I missed a lot of the weirder sets on the smaller stages as I was just totally cooked. Not Primavera's fault, obviously. Maybe I'm just getting old - or maybe I need to pace my drinking better...   Anyway - is David Byrne a realistic get for next year? Certainly hoping so.
    • watching clips of the cure in Barcelona, wow 2 hours 25 minute set. That's gonna be tough on the Sunday but can't bloody wait for it
