The Arctics play Scotland this week so I just can't see people rushing to buy tickets if there's only one headliner being announced. Anyone who's been at a festival in the last few years could have seen them. I took the wise choice at Glasto this year and had a ball at Chic instead of AM's

If you consider the Stone Roses this year - promoted by the same company as Arctics, and the same one who does TITP - they had two dates at Finsbury Park and one at Glasgow Green, both announced at the same time. Arctic Monkeys have had two dates announced for Finsbury Park and T could be the Scottish date in place of Glasgow Green. It'd still be immensely popular. Plus for some reason Finsbury Park is 16+ which excludes a sizeable portion of their fanbase.

Neil said he had info that suggests it could be an artist that many people would consider to be 'pop crap'

i've not "had info". I've put 2 and 2 together, and possibly come up with 5.

The pop crap thing was mostly a pisstake, and I don't think I said "many". I was particularly thinking of devilman.

at the end of the day, i'm guessing not much different to you lot.

Not sure why everyone is saying they'll announce a solid ticket seller that no one will raise their eyebrows at because last year the first two announced acts were Rihanna and Mumford and Sons, probably the most contravertial two acts on the whole lineup last year

    • We had one f**kwit one year come back at 4am and start playing music out loud and sitting under the tree talking. Thankfully his mate was in the tent trying to sleep too and came out and told him to f**k off. After one big argument he did indeed f**k off.   Otherwise I can actually sleep at GM without ear plugs compared to glasto. It's usually typically fine for sleeping at.

    • Yeah, she sold out BST twice and I think she'll return with even more interest.
    • To me MGK doesn't shift tickets, but could appeal to a younger demographic.    Don Broco/Architects/Jimmy Eat World/Turnstile - one or two of these would hit better.
    • I'm going, some friends and relatives will also be there on some days. I'm going on Sunday, then Tuesday to Saturday. I'm staying in the city From the headliners I'm most excited for Florence and twenty one pilots. Smaller acts I'm really looking forward to are: Tomora, Dijon, Wolf Alice and Sigrid
