RobertProsineckisLighter
I can just see it now... all the bar 'owners' frantically ringing the people who do their sinage... that £4.50 piss water we call Tuborg... make it a fiver. dub-tech
Will I be allowed to drive alcohol on site in my car?
pedmills
With all this talk of techniques and tricks to get them in...it makes me think of other festivals where I have tried elaborate ways of sneaking alcohol into the arena. It made me feel like a child. The great thing about Glastonbury is that you've got freedom and are treated like an adult.
siblin
I know, that's about the time I arrive too. I can see how it would work if everyone followed the trolley ban. Was thinking more that most people will still bring a trolley so there'll be a hold-up as each one has a confrontation with security. RainbowChild
I received this email at 11.58 and was quite concerned. We wont be taking that much - 2 litres of skittles vodka and maybe a slab of beer - but we carry everything in on our 2 cycle trailers - tent, clothes, cooking things, alcohol and everything else. We're not disabled but we will have our three young boys with us in the queue - they're aged 5, 4 and 2 so we certainly need our hands free to keep them under control while they're getting bored waiting to be let in. Our usual routine is to park up in the car park Tuesday night, unload the car and pack one of the trailers, wrap it in a tarpauline ready for joining the queue early doors. Our alcohol will be mixed in with the rest of our stuff, we cant really carry it as we'll be using our hands to control children and push trailers and we cant exactly ask the boys to carry it either. I hope this gets clarified soon as it seems a bit of an odd rule really
The_Amazing_Oblong
I think its that the gates have about 4 turnstiles and 1 gate thats wide enough for trollies. At 8am on the weds thats a real problem.

siblin
It's never been a problem so far. Trolley people go through just as fast as non trolley people, note - I said "trolley" people not "trollied" people.

RobertProsineckisLighter
All this talk of it will be a T&C of the licence is all very well, but in many ways that makes it worse. The licence will have been in place long berfore now... They would have known at the time of ticket sales. for me the timing of the announcement is the worst part of it. Zoo Music Girl
Ah yes - fair point. would hate to be on the first aid shift on weds, all those people that have put their back out needing treatment. On the plus side its boom time for the people offering massages in the healing fields!
Homer
Luckily I'm really hard, so I'll just carry all mine on my back.

funkyuk
mmmh not sure how this will work as me and my fella bring a cooler bag each which is a mix of soft drinks, booze and loads of bottles of iced water. Everything we carry is on a trolley as totally impractical to carry on own whilst pushing a trolley, I suppose I could carry it on own but what's the point if I have a trolley to do these things? Very badly worded and can see this adding further delays at the gate tbh

RobertProsineckisLighter
And the stall holders will be marking up soft drinks 100% as the need for mixers will go through the roof
