You don't always need a front to cause a storm if there is sufficient heat and humidity. It's much rarer without a front but there is a (minimal) chance (Netwether currently saying about 10% chance on a couple of evenings).

I hated the heat in 2010. My own opinion. I was/am overweight and was unfit. I can see it was great weather for a lot of people who love the sun and heat. But it ruined the festival for me. On the plus side, there was no mud to wade through.

This year looks pretty perfect. A few showers. A lot of sun. a fair bit of cloud which will keep things warmer at night.

I can't really ask for a better forecast

Only done 4 x Glastonbury's but on conditions alone 2010 was best and 2011 was the worst. In general terms 2008 was probably the best one (something to do with being my first) and I would happily accept the 2008 and 2009

weather now

2009 was perfect I reckon. If it turns out like that again ill be happy. Warm when the suns out, the odd shower to keep the dust down. Also the thunderstorm on the Thursday was mental!

I like having 2007 in my memory because something like 2011 really had no hope of even registering as a wet year. Wednesday morning was bad and Friday evening got a little drizzly but for the most part it was quite dry. Sure there was mud but nothing that a pair of wellies couldn't handle..

Loved 2010. I wouldn't say it was perfect because some people struggled but it wasn't far off it and was infinitely preferable to cold/rain/mud.

Plus I live in Scotland so any sun I get is welcome.

I think we now have 'convergence' on all the weather forecasts don't we?, especially looking at those graphs!

Basically fine and warm, mainly cloudy with occasional sunny intervals. Slight chance of light rainshowers but nothing of any real significance. Almost no chance of mud!

Thats my reading of all the forecasts anyway

Back of the net if this turns out to be right!

I'd take a 2010 over a 2007 any day. But I'd take 2008 over 2010, no doubt. 2010 was too hot, and getting burnt out of your tent at 9 every morning was miserable. I thought the crowd was pretty flat as well. Just drained of energy.

Think some people on here who say 2010 was perfect and the moaners need to get a grip obviously don't realise how difficult some people find the heat.

    • Proper special gig tonight. They won't mean much to most people, but The Dogs D'Amour were one of the most significant bands of my youth.   Tyla, yer main man of said band, was playing in Birkenhead tonight. Not many there, but it was going fine. Then he decided he didn't like the smoke and the flashing lights so suggested moving the gig to the beer garden. Off we all went, and it was magical. Like having your favourite musician play in your garden. I absolutely loved it.   Before:     After:
