The met office can only predict the weather to 60% accuracy (60% is low as it is) within 3 days. So basically, it's guess work right until we get there. Don't worry about it. It'll be great regardless.

Something more positive in AWD's update today on the Netweather Glastonbury Forecast thread :

http://forum.netweather.tv/topic/76531-glastonbury-wed-26-to-sun-30-june-2013/?p=2710824

ETA : Apols, I've /topic/174206-weather/?p=4055200">been beaten to it!

Cautiously semi positive right now, although that will doubtless chop and change wildly over coming days.

More than one of you earlier posted that 2008 and 2009 type conditions (ie mixed. but much more plusses than minusses) seem more likely than either 2007 mudbath or 2010 dustbowl type.

I think that's realistic for the time being. Let's hope though that AWD's hints at better than that, really do confirm themselves and that proper HP influence for late June really does come to fruition and isn't just a transient phenomenon ...

Be aware too that the Met Office (on which most TV forecasts are based, that includes the BBC's weekly updates on Mondays for the four-week outlook) have tended (IMO, at least!) to err more on the side of caution/difference-splitting. The wider range of modelling seem to me to include a wider range of positives and negatives than the above two allow for sometimes .....

I'm in agreement with some I think a 2008/09 could well happen with rain on one night causing a bit of mud, but hopefully dry and fine the rest of the time.

Luckily it doesn't look like anything of the recent 2007/11 festivals will happen!

The beeb right now has got Pilton 18th/19th/20th as dry and warm, 20-22 degrees. I know from experience the beebs two week forecasts are a tad overexcited sometimes so I won't be taking this as gospel but at those temps and lack of rain I'd stick.

    • Steven Wilson Jr touring would be a good fit.   Brian Fallon (Gaslight Anthem) as he’s touring too next year.   Royston Club. Kingfshr. Bleachers. Spacey Jane. Gang Of Youths. Overpass
    • 90,000 on a single for day or over the weekend?   if it was for the whole weekend that’s disastrous   Given camping didn’t sell out unless they in effect transferred a lot of camping captivity to Chappell Roan day tickets 90,000 is absolute capacity there I think, so it would be hard to believe   i think it’s from the year before but the TPD tv footage when the killers are headlining makes it look like it’s at best half full
    • A part of me thinks weirdly they might hold off on Chaka/Robbie until they have a year where nobody else who fits the bill is available. This slot takes a very specific set of criteria, and I can't imagine they're flushed with options who are on tour and would take the smaller payday every year. Both Chaka and Robbie have expressed interest in doing it, so they're bankers for a year where fewer options are available. Which may well be 2027.
    • Chaka and Robbie got to have decent chances due to previous reports
