UK Outlook for Monday 17 Jun 2013 to Wednesday 26 Jun 2013:

To start next week, a good deal of dry weather across the north/northeast of the UK, though with a scattering of showers. More unsettled across southern and western parts, with the chance of some heavy rain. Perhaps brighter with some showers in the far south and southwest. Breezy in places, mainly in the south. Temperatures mostly just below to around normal, possibly rather warm in the south/southeast. The changeable theme then continues through the rest of the week, with further showers or longer spells of rain. Temperatures generally close to or a little below average. However, towards next weekend and into the following week, southern and eastern parts probably seeing some lengthier drier and brighter conditions. Temperatures remaining close to normal, but warm at times in the south and east.

Geographical Information Systems is my thing, so digitial mapping really, mixed in with aspects of analysis all using Ordnance Survey Mapping.

I used to specialise in mapping datasets to do with Children and Young People. Things like road traffic accidents, education outcomes, sexually transmitted diseases etc... this is effectivly overlaying differnt datasets on top of each other and doing analysis for the professionals in these areas when they have ideas! I also used to do a fair bit of work on web mapping, so the sort of things you see on any local authority website about wheres my nearest school, planning application etc...

These days i take more of a back seat, and work primarly on spatial data management and utalising spatial data in business processes to drive efficiency. While having analysts and developers to call upon as and when required. Many people see this as really boring but it facinates me.

As they say in my business, everything happens somewhere.
