Consistent rain (3/4 hours worth) turns the site to soup.

I don't think that's right, 33mm is over an inch, and an inch of rain over the 5 days would surely result in a mudbath !

Let's be honest, 2010-like conditions are as rare as 2007-like conditions. All signs point to something like 2008/2009, which were absolutely fine for me (and I expect most people too). So far, I'm happy with the way things are looking.

Does anyone know what the predictions looked like in 2011 and 2010? What about shocking years like 2007? Was that level of rain expected?

I think 2010 was similar to now, it was looking good, then things got a little scary a week or so beforehand, and it all worked out. For some reason I can't remember much about 2011 but I'm fairly sure it wasn't looking as potentially promising as this year. I'd happily settle for an 08 (although I wasn't there) or 09 if we can't get 2010's weather.

I seem to remember us being prepared for a bit of a washout in 2011 as the weather in the build up was pretty poor, no early June heatwaves like we had last week - so nowhere near as many positive signs as we've had so far this year. I'd settle for 2008 when I think about the horrors of 2007 and the trek from the car park in 2011. Typically I missed out on 2010 so would love a bit of that this time round!

I seem to remember 2007 being forcasted for so-so weather then in the event obviously the monsoon arrived and we all woke up to the headline "NOT AGAIN" on the Q Daily the next day

I seem to remember the build up to 2011 being pretty bad as it rained consistently for the couple of weeks before the fest, churning it all up good and proper even before we got there.

Still couldn't believe how quickly it dried out on Saturday though

I remember this as well. I recall watching the Worthy TV videos of the festival site in the week before the festival gates opened, and there were already quite a few muddy arrears then, where the site traffic had churned up the paths

Worthy fm did a video going round saying the site was ok and it was clear you could see massive puddles and the site aleady a mess

09 was fine, pretty sure I wore trainers pretty much the whole time. would definitely settle for that this year.

You remember 09 differently to me, Siblin. I remember lots of sun and even getting my tits out at times.

It rained Thu night but dried up quickly and was sunny from Friday onwards
