  1. Packing and looking forward to a night at the theatre in London - going with three friends, one of them isn't coming to Glasto so will try not to talk about it TOO much!
  2. I think "subject to search" means that you should be prepared for it but it's not necessarily going to happen. When we were driving into the car park one year, in a convoy of three or four cars, I got pulled for search randomly, said to the security guy "Oh no, going to lose my friends" and he just waved me through. I wasn't trying to hide anything, just didn't want to lose the rest of the group! I'm more concerned about the Sticklinch rules. We're only allowed to take in as much alcohol as we can carry. If we can carry it on a sack truck is that OK? It'll probably be one crate of lager and a box of wine!
  3. Local (London) forecast has changed overnight from relentless rain to showers and mostly sunny and warm. I'm feeling more positive now. A bit of rain is fine, 2019 was too hot, but I am still hoping for the best!
  4. This is such a brilliant post and I really hope you find a way to get there and if not, that you're straight in for 2024. I somehow got through on the general sale back in November but having failed so often in recent years I was absolutely with you all this morning. People like you are the spirit of this festival!
  5. I seem to remember a soggy build up in 2019 which is the last time I got in and it was the hottest festival I've known. I'll take mid twenties and no rain please.
  6. Tankus the Henge x 5 - they really are the ultimate festival band and I know they've been moving up the Glasto line up over the years but I'd bloody love to see them on a main stage. I'm sure they will be there with a late night slot somewhere obscure and then mid afternoon somewhere slightly more mainstream but do yourselves a favour and catch their set.
  7. I think the only thing that could stop me watching would be Tankus the Henge headlining on a small stage but they usually do a couple of slots over the weekend so hopefully that won't be an issue. Prodigy could be problematic as one of our group will definitely want to be there which means their partner will go with them and miss Elton.
  8. Not sure how you can access the page now as the WV and Sticklinch camping has sold out. I'm sure the parking option will return.
  9. Was just popping back to say this. Purchased. And relax. Time to move to the other threads!!!
  10. Thanks Paul - I was just putting my details in to buy another tent and it struck me that when I cancel it, I'd probably have to cancel the parking as well so I shall keep the faith and trust all of you who have told me I'll be fine!!! I've been ridiculously lucky this year already with getting tickets and then straight through for accommodation so I'll stop being a child and relax!!!
  11. I'm so annoyed with myself. One of the main reasons for booking Sticklinch is I have stupid knees that don't like lugging stuff for an hour across the site! On the verge of booking another tent and sucking up the cancellation charge just so I can sort parking!
  12. Phew. At the moment it won't let me do it without buying more accommodation which clearly I don't want to do!!! Thank you!
  13. Crap, I've realised that I've done this as well. Just gone back onto the page and it won't let me book without booking more accommodation!
  14. I've booked two against my reg. number. Ts&Cs for Sticklinch say you can book up to two.
  15. Phew. Two podpads booked - I got through just before Midday. Lucky! Now, will they automatically allocate me two next to each other, or do I have to request that, or is it just pot luck?! I feel a little bit like I'm not doing Glasto properly now but sod it, I'm old!
  16. Completely agree - I am absolutely fine with crowds and at times the madness can be overwhelming (I remember trying to move around the site when everybody was trying to get to see Bruce Forsyth!) so it's going to be an interesting one! But they do love live music and entertainment so I'm sure we'll be able to strike a balance.
  17. How much of a scramble is it going to be on Thursday? We want to book Sticklinch as we have a newbie in our group who is a massive introvert and wants to avoid crowds (ha - good luck with that!) and we're thinking this will give them somewhere to retreat to.
  18. Went in 2019 with my Canadian friend and there was a brilliant group with a flag living their best lives around the site! We're back next year and will find them/you!
  19. Posted years ago but fell by the wayside when my ticket buying ability went to hell ... but this year we're back and I am off the scale excited!!! Was on stage in a musical the other night and forgot my lines as I suddenly remembered I'd got tickets!!
  20. The Dunrannies would be brilliant, maybe not headliners but they still have got it so a Legends slot would work. Hell i don't care, I've got tickets for the first time in three years so whoever is there I'll be obsessed!
  21. I have newbies in my very very very lucky group, what is Worthy View like? I like being in the thick of it but one is an anxious one so would this work for one to get away while the rest of us party?
  22. I've just about stopped dancing around screaming my head off. Can't believe my useless laptop and Broadband worked!!!
  23. First time I've managed to book since 2013 (I think)! A friend got me a ticket in the resale in 2019 but I logged on this morning with zero hopes!
