Phone charger advice

Something a little more straightforward (and cheap) than the above options, but has one major plus point - runs on 4xAA batteries, so you can take or buy as many batteries as you need without worrying about charging it up.

I have a Blackberry and got a couple of spare batteries from Ebay last time, charged them up and away i went. Turn off the phone at night and use for text and calls during the day, i should just manage to make the 5 days this time around with luck. Also if i am struggling near the end i can always buy one of those battery chargers from a vendor on site for a day.

Some of the AA devices don't work on the newer iPhones for some reason. I had an Energizer one, which was fine on my iPod & 3Gs but not 4 & 4S. I'd just check compatibliity with certain models by reading the reviews on Amazon rather than what it states, although you'll more than likely be fine!

This is the best. 2 or 3 (to be safe) £2 batteries from China, they take ages to arrive but work just as good when new.

Found this charger on ebay.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Universal-30000mAh-Backup-External-Battery-Power-Bank-Charger-for-Cell-Phone-/400464165956?pt=US_Cell_Phone_PDA_Batteries&var=&hash=item5d3d863c44

Claims 30000mAH, so in theory should charge a typical smart phone about 20 times.

Worth a go for les than £16 delivered. Delivery time to UK is quoted as 10-30 days

I need some help on this, i'm bringing an iPad and an iPhone to record and upload videos, as well as update my Twitter and Facebook accounts.

I found my iPhone battery had died by midday Thursday in 2011 because i was on facebook so much as there was nothing else to do untill the bands started on Friday. Ironically when the bands did start on Friday i missed a lot of the acts i had planned to see as i was in the chill and charge tent! The staff there new my face by the end of the festival, lol.

Also does anyone know of any good battery powered hair straighteners?

Going to get a spare battery from ebay for my old Nokia and that should be fine. Going to get a spare battery for partners Samsung and make sure we both turn phones off at night and when we're together - we only really need them to text each other about meeting up (me with kids in kids field, him watching bands). would be rubbish if one of us runs out of charge though and we darent do our own thing for fear of not being able to meet up easily.

I got the trent IMP120D last week and been using it while working this weekend.

Works a treat, charged my S4 a couple of times, a mates blackberry and my nexus 7 tablet and was still going.

Worth it :-)

good point. If only someone could invent a mobile that costs £10 and has a battery life that will comfortably last for the whole festival without needing charging. A phone that will have the added benefit of it not mattering that much if it got nicked

oh wait

I'm either leaving my iphone at home or putting it in the lockups as soon as we get there. I've got a £10 uber basic samsung phone that I've started using for festivals that lasts about 2 weeks without charging and the best bit is that even if it's turned off the alarm still goes off. A lot of new phones don't do this and the man in the phone shop had no idea when I asked him about it and we had to try it in the shop. Means you don't waste your battery having it on all night while you're asleep but don't miss anything you want to be up for.

There's only one slight problem in that it takes a standard sim card and not my micro iphone sim. I'm unsure whether to pay for an adapter, none of which seem to have glowing reviews, and use my micro with my contract texts/minutes or just buy a standard sim and hope £10 credit will be enough

Can anyone point me in the direction of a cheap, unlocked Ronseal phone with a long battery life. My old festie phone doesn't fit my new sim card, so am looking for a basic handset for meetup purposes and nothing more.

The Nokia 100 seems to be the best bet but don't want to have to buy pay as you go top ups or what have you.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Ah, interesting. I don't think it's a micro-sim. It's more sort of medium sized, but still too small for my old festie phone which is about 4 years old now. Maybe some sort of adaptor is all I need.

Excellent, I got one which is really a sim card with a micro sim in it off ebay for 99p.

Pop the micro sim out, and put yours into the hole.
