  1. Got this from my insurers re my annual travel policy: The unprecedented disruption that Coronavirus is causing across the travel industry has caused us to make some very difficult decisions. On the 11th March 2020, the World Health Organisation upgraded the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak to a worldwide Pandemic.Based on this, as of the 13th March 2020, we have classed Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) as a “Known Event” in line with the policy terms conditions. How does this impact me?If you purchased your policy before the 13th March 2020:- For any element of your trip booked before the 13th March 2020, any subsequent claim will be considered in line with the terms and conditions. For any element of your trip booked after the 13th March 2020:- We will not cover any claims caused by or relating to Coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Nor will we cover any claims relating to any fear or threat concerning this virus.

    Ticket Sale Date

Quick check on google shows "Glastonbury Festival Events" accounts for year ending 31 March. This company has turnover of £44M so I guess it's the main company. Just noticed until 2016 accounting period was until 31 Dec. I'm not an accounting specialist, so I don't know how relevant this is

    Ticket Sale Date

I seem to remember discussions about this here a few years ago. I think someone said that most of the cash is collected in April so that it is in the same tax year as the actual festival. Apparently this is advantageous for tax purposes. Alan

    Musical Confessional

2011 was my first Glastonbury, the stage in the Glade area was Spirit of '71 and was located in the field where Glade lounge and the spaceport are now. I can't remember anything under the trees where the Glade stage is now. In 2013 stage was the same, but under the trees was the pizza place, it was almost deserted every time I walked past. I remember Spirit of '71 well, many of the bands were from the early '70s which is my era. By 2014 the layout was pretty much as it is now. Alan
  5. I was very disappointed with the selection this year. In previous years they had a wide selection of Ales and Ciders, this year it was very restricted and I think its full range was available at quite a few of the bars

    Glastocam!

Been looking at maps ( official map and A3 version ) and noticed that Tricketts bar above The Park seems to be missing. Anyone else noticed this? Alan

  8. They also do this one if on a tight budget. It's lighter and an easier shape to carry in, not as roomy as the pop up but still has the blackout.
  9. We have parked at Ashcombe car park a few times and use gate A as we head up to Hitchin Hill. We always have stewards directing us to Gate D, but insist on heading to A.

    Brexit at Glasto?

Totally agree, this will be the first time in over 40 years I have felt unable to vote labour?
  11. Freeze still cider for the cool box. The alcohol thaws first, so the cider from a partially thawed bottle is super strength.

    breakfast!

Really good stove, and really stable for safety. You can also get this https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B072MK1JT9/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_2?smid=AIF0SUM1JRS5E&psc=1 and used the cheaper and more available butane cartridges. A bit less heat output, but still good. Makes my essential morning coffee, and bacon rolls on Thursday and Friday.
  13. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B078QYJWQD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1 I've got this one, very small and light when folded. Also got this to go with it, stops the legs sinking into the ground. https://smile.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B074YCPF3V/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 It is more expensive than the standard chairs, but I think it is worth the extra.
